  Given that teixobactin may be one of the most significant drug discoveries in a generation both for fighting bacterial infections in 2 million Americans with tens of thousands dying who do not respond to any antibiotics as well as a promising cancer drug to add to the existing arsenal the editorial board of the Ninth Amendment at www.waronnothing.blogspot.com queries why researchers are estimating 2-3 years to human trials and 5-6 before possible public availability of teixobactin. Are we to believe that a person dying from a bacterial infection or cancer might not be willing to try the drug as soon as possible considering the alternative? For goodness sake in six years the United States the most powerful nation on earth could conceivably be ready to send manned/womenned spacecraft to Mars. If the United States does not get on this as soon as possible what nation on Earth will? It is time for a rebirth of the great American spirit not merely responding to vague fears and threats of those ignorant cowards who would reverse the great strides of civilization and take us all back to the Dark Ages.
