DNI Deputy Gordon Out Trump Evades Law Again Endangers Nation GOP Mute

Trump Names an Acting Spy Chief as No. 2 Intelligence Official Steps Down

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Thursday abruptly decided to install Joseph Maguire, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, as the acting director of national intelligence after Dan Coats steps down from the post next week.
Mr. Trump announced his decision to elevate Mr. Maguire, a retired vice admiral who once led the Navy’s Special Warfare Command, on Twitter shortly after confirming that Sue Gordon, the nation’s No. 2 intelligence official — who by law had been in line to temporarily take over as director — would instead depart with Mr. Coats on Aug. 15.
Ms. Gordon, who served more than 30 years in intelligence posts at the C.I.A. and other agencies, informed Mr. Trump of her decision to retire in a letter on Thursday after it became clear that he would not permit her to rise to the position of acting director.
“As you ask a new leadership team to take the helm, I will resign my position,” she wrote, adding: “I am confident in what the intelligence community has accomplished, and what it is poised to do going forward. I have seen it in action first-hand for more than 30 years. Know that our people are our strength, and they will never fail you or the nation. You are in good hands.”

The sudden shuffle in the highest ranks of the intelligence community added to the turmoil since Mr. Trump announced on Twitter on July 28 that Mr. Coats would leave and that Representative John Ratcliffe, a Texas Republican who is an outspoken supporter of the president, would be his nominee for the next director.
But last Friday, Mr. Trump dropped his plan to nominate Mr. Ratcliffe after it came to light that he had exaggerated his counterterrorism experience as a former federal prosecutor, and as concerns mounted among lawmakers of both parties that he lacked qualifications for the job.
In his initial Twitter announcement, Mr. Trump suggested that Ms. Gordon might not become the acting director until a new one was confirmed, notwithstanding the succession statute. The New York Times reported last Friday that the White House had decided not to let Ms. Gordon become the director, although she had not yet been formally informed of that choice, and that the administration had requested a list of other senior agency officials, a suggestion that it was searching for a different successor.
The signs of turmoil prompted lawmakers of both parties, including those leading the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senators Richard M. Burr, Republican of North Carolina, and Mark Warner, Democrat of Virginia, to issue strong expressions of support.
Mr. Burr called her departure “a significant loss” for the intelligence community.
“In more than three decades of public service, Sue earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues with her patriotism and vision,” he said in a statement on Thursday. “She has been a stalwart partner to the Senate Intelligence Committee, and I will miss her candor and deep knowledge of the issues. I look forward to seeing what new challenges she will tackle next.”

Representative Adam B. Schiff, a California Democrat who leads the House Intelligence Committee, portrayed the ousters as a “devastating loss” that threatened the intelligence community’s ability to provide independent analysis and judgment to policymakers.
“Gordon brought decades of experience and encyclopedic knowledge of the agencies to bear, and her absence will leave a great void,” he said. “These losses of leadership, coupled with a president determined to weed out anyone who may dare disagree, represent one of the most challenging moments for the intelligence community.”. . .

DYING LYING GOP HATES THE POOR SOON RICH TO FUND UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME

“I have a rough time wanting to spend billions and billions and trillions of dollars to help people who won’t help themselves, won’t lift a finger and expect the federal government to do everything.”

-Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) on Republicans led by the great beloved GOP leader Trump two months ago not renewing CHIP which long has provided healthcare for over nine million of the neediest U.S. children and does not cost "billions and billions and trillions of dollars."

“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing, as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”

                                                   - Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on why the estate tax exemption should either be doubled not taxing the first $22.4 million per couple (Senate version) or just eliminated altogether with no estate tax at all no matter how rich someone is (House version) Senator Grassley apparently so used to flat out lying like other Republicans led by great beloved GOP leader Trump that he expects anyone to take his deranged assertion seriously that ordinary Americans who last year had a median household income of $59,000 are at fault for not at end of life passing on estates worth $22.4 million or more per couple only because those ordinary Americans are not investing but instead spending all their working lifetimes blowing "every darn penny" after paying all living expenses from that $59,000 median yearly household income "on booze or women or movies."

GOP SENATOR JOHN CORNYN BONA FIDE TEXAS IDIOT READ THIS FANTASYLAND BS

                                                                - Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) of the Texas Republican voter suppression abuse of power gerrymandered stranglehold racketeering influenced corrupt organization GOP (Texas branch) finally shows he actually can do something other than comb his hair and stand silent at Mitch McConnell's shoulder. Unfortunately for Cornyn his contribution of one less-than-worthless tweet is just one more exhibit that Cornyn is another rotten lying Republican, a complete moron, has lapsed into dementia, Alzheimer's, and/or senility or a combination of some or all of the above. As Economics Nobel Prize Professor Paul Krugman references Cornyn's totally misleading tweet that not even most any moron would put out except an idiot Texas Republican who could not care less or was too stupid to know what hard evidence he was leaving contributing to his own legacy of mindless mean dishonesty:  "Yes, just your ordinary family that owns two businesses accounting for 40% of its income."

Tuesday, 5 November 2017, WASHINGTON, D.C. - The thoroughly nauseating Republican Party of confessed serial sex assaulter Trump now further himself embracing along with the RNC to the tune of $1 million to make a Republican home for the most likely serial Grand Old Pedophile Moore in the United States Senate further of late has shamelessly made yet another hypocritical dishonest and misleading attempt as set out in the article below of Republican attacks including utterly baseless ones by senior Republicans such as majority whip Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to the press discrediting the Joint Committee on Taxation analysis like those efforts now familiar from Republicans against the long-respected non-partisan Congressional Budget Office on earlier Republican "healthcare" attempts per the GOP new normal modus operandi of suppressing all truth from the American people most recently about the vast damage to the great majority of the people of this nation to be expected from the Republicans' huge tax cut giveaway to only the very richest including their d/owners and of course many of themselves like liar-in-chief criminal President Trump who naturally has continuously lied about not benefiting from such tax cuts but claiming instead to be sacrificing greatly when in fact this could not be further from the truth as the completely undeserved tax cut giveaway to the richest is estimated to net a well over $1 billion bonanza to Trump and his family.
The unambiguous verbatim quotes above from senior leading Republican Senators Hatch and Grassley make absolutely clear disclosure to all Americans what the despicable Republicans really think of the vast majority of Americans they in no way represent but exploit and will hurt and kill without a second thought if those Americans are not one of the very few richest including those who sustain them unnaturally in office they no longer can be said rightfully to have popularly attained without massive infusions of d/owner cash that are no donations at all but investments on which those donors demand a quantifiable return for which they will go elsewhere if it is not realized.
The Republicans have been corrupted down to such a despicable level that many of the most respected former Republicans with the most integrity and bona fide conservative credentials have left the party feeling forced to leave an irredeemable GOP which has descended to such an un-American and anti-democratic monstrosity party to continuously destroying this great American constitutional democracy and its most sacred and cherished traditions such that more agree daily that the time has come unequivocally that the Republican party must die patriotic only in its being sacrificed to save the Republic from an awful and irreversible future that otherwise may rival some of the worst and most cruel governments and regimes history has known in their chaotic inevitable final disintegration.
As for the immediate danger emphasized by the nature of the vile quotes above Republicans could not care less about saddling hurting ordinary Americans and their children with more than another $1.5 trillion in debt added to the deficit while simultaneously threatening to take away their lifeline shoestring "benefits" many actually earned and which rightfully belong to the people even as those repulsive Republicans who have become deluded by fleeting power that they are better than any other American to whom they now have come to lie and swindle continuously with perceived impunity thoroughly corrupted by their criminal beloved GOP leader Trump those despicable Republicans' words quoted above come verbatim from the opinion piece of economics Nobel Professor Paul Krugman's both entitled and warning "Republicans Are Coming For Your Benefits" also for interested readers linked to below.
UPDATED to 1 January 2018  In the end Trump was overtaken with enthusiasm for what finally will become his first legislative "win" barring the unforeseen which bill some have described as the worst piece of legislation drafted in modern times (quite an accomplishment considering the 2001 so-called "Patriot Act") with Trump's signing now delayed until 2018 due to one of a few final screw-ups which also included the bill having been sent back to the House of Representatives by the Senate parliamentarian for technicalities then to be voted on a second time in the House and returned. Unfortunately in his apparent enthusiasm related with accompanying video for interested readers in the Washington Post article linked to directly below Trump admitted for the record that the bill was deceptively sold by the GOP as a middle class tax cut which was a lie as Trump admitted it in fact was intended primarily to benefit corporations and (once again) undermine Obamacare. Trump's widely captured comments are expected to be less than helpful to his already concerned bill signing GOP colleagues still running for re-election although the steadily more energized Democrats looking to 2018 were grateful for the clear primary source explication to go with the horrors of the historically disfavored Trump tax cut giveaway which they expect to become relentlessly more apparent as its true nature unfolds.
GOP class warfare starts 1 January 2018 as contemptuous Republicans waste no time from day one of their final year with lying Republican hypocrites Paul Ryan leading the charge for benefit cuts from the neediest as "conservative" Mark Meadows of "Freedom (For The Rich) Caucus" commences dire calls for "fiscal restraint" on heels of $1.5 trillion new debt cash dump on richest with bonus attack on healthcare expected to kick tens of millions of Americans off in their last days of Congress in 2017.
