Declassify Secret Russia Role In U.S. Election Intelligence President Obama Urged To Disclose By Seven Intelligence Committee Senators In Open Letter

Friday, 2 December 2016, WASHINGTON, D.C. - Seven Democratic senators on the Senate Intelligence Committee in an "unprecedented"  three sentence open letter to President Barack Obama obtained, shown and read verbatim yesterday to viewers by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow urged the President to declassify further intelligence concerning Russian interference with the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election so that the information can be disclosed to the American people. The senators apparently were familiar with the classified information but disclosed nothing in their short open letter which concluded by stating they would follow-up with specifics to President Obama through "classified channels" and thanking him for giving his attention to this important matter. The Republican senators on the committee declined to sign the letter.
To date there have been rare direct public statements by two U.S. intelligence agencies before the election those being the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security specifically placing blame for cyberattack hacking interference attempts directed at the U.S. election as being perpetrated by the Russian state including particularly by targeting both the Democratic National Committee and the campaign of Hillary Clinton then feeding stolen and possibly altered emails through Wikileaks for internet release specifically to damage Ms. Clinton's campaign to the benefit of now President-elect Trump's campaign.
Following the election Admiral Michael Rogers director of the National Security Agency delivered an emphatic public statement again emphasizing that to a certainty Russia was the state party responsible for attempts and/or interference with the U.S. election. Admiral Rogers gave the strong impression that he meant to warn the public that it should take the Russian threat seriously which has not necessarily been the case to date doubtless not helped as Mr. Trump largely has conveyed a lack of confidence or concern or even interest in the intelligence he has been provided on matters of national security in his position as President-elect.
Also as previously reported here in an earlier post a "top official" with the "administration" provided on condition of anonymity for undisclosed reasons a brief written statement devoid of any detail but "defending the integrity" of the election. The warnings of intelligence officials now augmented by the senators' letter to President Obama strongly suggest that the White House is downplaying some matter of significant concern including by withholding information necessary for the American people to grasp its gravity. Nor has further information been forthcoming as to the unusual somewhat cryptic uncharacteristic quiet threat with a slight smile by Vice-President Biden during an interview before the election that the United States was going to (presumably) retaliate for cyberattack interference with the presidential election or possibly anything else assessed as an attack against U.S. interests essentially "in an appropriate manner in a time and a place of our choosing."
Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul briefly interviewed in the video link below when informed of the senators' open letter to the President said that such an action was to his knowledge "unprecedented". Although not being privy to the classified information at issue as he has been out of the government for a couple years and now is a professor at Stanford University he stated that just given the fact that these senators had felt it necessary to take such an unprecedented action as the open letter urging the President's disclosure of some classified intelligence was "deeply disturbing" and indicative of something quite consequential of which the American people have not been apprised. Senator Wyden of Oregon who apparently was the lead senator on the letter would provide no information whatsoever about the letter nor to what it referred. Readers interested in more information can go to the first link below which shows an MSNBC video about this matter of about ten minutes length.
Readers can go to the second link below if interested in more broader background on Russian covert influence efforts that a "senior intelligence official" yesterday told Reuters have been increasing in Europe in recent years as part of a larger campaign against the United States and other Western nations seeking to disrupt and discredit democratic institutions, nations and alliances such as NATO as well as noting the coordinated efforts of these nations to monitor and respond to these threats, including as described by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper in a September 2016 letter to Congress just made available to Reuters on 2 December 2016 asking that Congress not attempt itself to probe Russian covert influence attempts as there already are ongoing coordinated efforts with other nations with these efforts underway best left to U.S. and partner intelligence agencies to avoid duplication of effort and not risk disruption of already developed coordination between these nations' intelligence agencies.

BREAKING NEWS: Four Star General David Petraeus Charges Referred By FBI To Department of Justice For Federal Criminal Prosecution For General Petraeus' Disclosure Of Classified Information While Serving As CIA Director

Saturday, 10 January 2015, WASHINGTON, D.C. - The FBI just has referred charges against Four Star General David Petraeus to the Department of Justice for federal criminal prosecution for disclosure of classified information in his capacity as Director of the CIA. The charges include allegations of his disclosure of classified information which Mr. Petraeus allegedly passed to his mistress Paula Broadwell while Petraeus was serving as Director of the CIA including from his in-house personal CIA computer.
The married General Petraeus previously was found by an internal CIA investigation to have used his personal CIA office computer protected by only by a very weak password (such as e.g, named after his dog "Spot") itself in violation of CIA policy to have spent his time exchanging romantic emails with Patricia Broadwell with whom Petraeus was having an affair. Petraeus upon disclosure of this activity was either fired or forced to resign as CIA Director.
The present CIA Director John Brennan among other things has been found to have ordered and/or conspired to commit acts of torture illegal under U.S. law and signatory international treaties and conventions the investigation of which Brennan and his CIA repeatedly have sought to obstruct by destroying and withholding evidence, claiming non-existent privileges seeking to impede and disrupt the investigation, lying to Congress and making false criminal charges against those sought with overseeing CIA activities which has turned out to be most likely a subterfuge while in fact Brennan and his CIA meanwhile actually have been hacking the computers of those on the Senate Intelligence Committee sought with CIA oversight among myriad other apparent criminal acts.
Mr. Brennan to date is still in office as CIA Director and not yet in prison for these illegal activities. He may also be responsible for the probable murder of Rolling Stones investigative reporter Michael Hastings most likely through a cyber car attack as related in a previous recent Ninth Amendment post. Michael Hastings was responsible previously for reporting on the contempt expressed by General Stanley McChrystal and his senior aides in days spent with them making derogatory remarks about their Commander-In-Chief upon the publication of which General McChyrstal's military career effectively came to an end much as his senior four star General Petraeus' has following his complete lack of discretion in using his personal CIA computer with totally inadequate password to make love talk with his mistress while supposedly directing the affairs of the CIA.
At the time of Mr. Hastings untimely death in a very suspicious single car accident a nearby video caught his Mercedes traveling at over one hundred miles per hour and swerving toward a tree before exploding in an horrific fireball which appeared to erupt before Hastings' car even hit the tree. Mr. Hastings on the day of his death had sent out frantic emails to all friends lacking his usual friendly salutations but expressing fear allegedly that "the FBI was following him". Later that day he was seen looking under his car before telling his wife that he was "on to something really big". Before he could tell anyone what that was Mr. Hastings was dead with his next investigative story scheduled to come out in just two weeks on CIA Director John Brennan. Although Rolling Stone announced it still would run Hasting's investigative report on Mr. Brennan on the originally scheduled date Rolling Stone in fact without explanation did not and never has subsequently.
Meanwhile the FBI further just now as related above has charged former CIA Director Petraeus with the above-described disclosure of confidential information pursuant to the earlier CIA internal investigation following which President Obama either fired or forced the resignation of Petraeus as CIA Director. With the newly leveled FBI charges referred to the Department of Justice four star General Petraeus reportedly now holds the ignominious distinction of being the highest ranking U.S. military official ever found to have been charged with criminal behavior of anywhere approaching such a serious magnitude.
To sum up General Petraeus served previously as Supreme Commander of United States and coalition forces over the entire Middle Eastern theater.  Petraeus now facing possible indictment in his previous military position was senior to the later disgraced General Stanley McChrystal who as commander of U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan was fired or forced to resign by President Obama in the wake of the publication of the almost certainly later murdered Rolling Stone reporter's account of his time spent with General McChrystal and his senior aides in which General Petraeus and his senior staff reportedly repeatedly made derogatory comments about their Commander-In-Chief President Barack Obama.
It is not known to the Ninth Amendment editorial board why the earlier CIA internal investigation did not result in CIA Director Petraeus' prosecution for passing of confidential information to Patricia Broadwell. Typically such an "internal" executive agency investigation would be performed by the agency's in this case CIA Inspector General (IG) who does not report to anyone in the CIA but to a separate and distinct IG hierarchy of outside officials.
Should that have been the case at hand it is not known why the IG would not itself have passed on to the Department of Justice ifs findings presumably encompassing the disclosure of confidential information to Patricia Broadwell. The CIA certainly when it does not wish to pass on information which might implicate it or support the case for the imprisonment of its officials or operatives has not hesitated quite broadly to assert the "defense" of it being confidential information especially of some sort putting persons or operations at serious risk if disclosed thereby making the veracity of the claim nearly impossible to gauge in real time even though the CIA by law is required to pass on such information to its overseers who themselves are expected to be just as capable as the CIA of keeping confidential information confidential.
In fact in the current case of the release by the Senate Intelligence Committee of a merely redacted  summary of the CIA's responsibility for the illegal use of torture in the so-called "Torture Report" the CIA has without hesitation sought to make claims of "confidential" information not to mention fabricating a variety of other made up other non-existent privileges. Not to mention the CIA becoming virtually apoplectic at the prospect of the release of the so-called CIA "Panetta Report" rumored not only to detail much more damning inhumane illegal CIA torture and possibly other activities but further exposing that the CIA has repeatedly lied to Congress.
The editorial board of the Ninth Amendment just recently had occasion to learn from a Western al-Qaeda Yemen "recruit" the reason for his seemingly unthinkable decision that apparently hundreds or not thousands of Western recruits are making to join the ranks of al-Qaeda or ISIS. The prospect of joining either group appears to be very grim indeed. Yet the media pundits and "experts" now speak incessantly of the once esoteric but now commonplace explanation of "self-radicalization" being a major factor in recruitment. However the Western man the Ninth Amendment editorial board just recently heard offered neither the justification of a religious zealot or one caught up in some delusion of glory in joining one of these groups committing untold atrocities in some of the last places on Earth one would wish to live.
All the young man referred to as his justification for seeking to join one of these terrorist groups was as a response to his hatred of the CIA's criminal use of torture. Has it ever occurred to the CIA that keeping human beings imprisoned in horrid conditions uncharged and with no known release date while seemingly to them abusing them randomly at will torturing them at any time might be enough to make just about anyone even if they had not before hated Americans and the West as they have never hated before and in fact become "radicalized by CIA"? The CIA's torture "program" in the opinion of the Ninth Amendment editorial board has served no purpose based on credible sources but to perpetuate terrorism and keep terrorists supplied with an unending stream of recruits as the CIA has proceeded in absolute contravention of all the core principles embodied in the United States Constitution and worthy of a fascist state. The CIA's use of criminal torture is no secret any longer to the American people and never was to terrorist groups who received detailed reports of CIA torture from "detainees" who were released from CIA custody.
Finally the Ninth Amendment finds it curious that in the wake of the internal CIA investigation of Director Petraeus rather than the CIA IG it has ended up being the FBI that has referred charges against the CIA official rather than the IG provided that that is presumably within the purview of the IG. More broadly the Ninth Amendment must query if this means it would be the FBI charged with the task of taking into custody and charging CIA officials and operatives should that become necessary provided the CIA officials if facing the prospect of going to prisons so much more humane than their own will nevertheless go down shooting. On another front the Ninth Amendment has been somewhat confounded by the swift conclusion drawn by the FBI that North Korea was responsible for the Sony "The Interview' hack. This given the volume of illegal IT information unlawfully amassed by the NSA and its presumably top-notch cyber experts, not to mention the CIA's for that matter which agency if any would be expected to be in a turf war with the NSA over taking charge in cyber investigations.
In the realm of the acronymed "National Security" and law enforcement agencies could we be seeing a turf war breaking out with the somewhat sleeping FBI now emerging as taking a leading role considering that the CIA by law if not practice is restricted to overseas rather than domestic activities and as for the NSA who knows it would seem it has become a rogue agency somewhat distastefully turned to by others considering the stink attached to it but whose mission seems to be anyone's to guess but mostly to use the latest technologies to devise the latest way to break national and international laws with abandon.

CIA "Black Sites" For Imprisonment, Torture And Murder Extrapolated From Torture Report As Being In Countries Including Afghanistan, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, And Thailand By Examiner.com Article With Video

Friday, 2 January 2014, LANGLEY, VIRGINIA (maybe) - The Ninth Amendment editorial board without comment provides a link to an Examiner.com article with video that identifies through extrapolation from the United States Senate Select Committee On Intelligence (SSCI) which ostensibly "oversees" the CIA publicly released on 9 December 2014 a  524 page summary of a still otherwise classified 6,000 page Torture Report identifying the location of global CIA torture "Black Sites" where human beings are imprisoned, tortured and at least in one case murdered by forced exposure chained to a floor as being in countries including Afghanistan, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Thailand. One of these "extrajudicial detention" facilities, i.e. sites where the CIA imprisoned and tortured human beings is known as "Cobalt" aka the "Salt Pit" aka by detainees as the "dark prison" located north of Kabul, Afghanistan.
The CIA has strongly resisted disclosing the countries hosting these CIA secret prison and torture sites on the stated grounds that they could harm relations with these countries who may as a result be thought less of by the world community and also for example say as to Thailand tourists may not be as eager to patronize Thailand for what they thought was a "laid back" vacation in a relatively "cool" country once they learn that their tourist dollars support a regime which plays host to CIA secret prison and torture facilities.
The CIA has however voiced markedly less concern if any at all as to relations with countries such as Germany which is one country where it has been document the CIA abducted and kidnapped a totally innocent German citizen on vacation and proceeded to imprison and torture him continuing even after such time as the CIA discovered it had the "wrong man". The Torture Report found that of all identified CIA imprisonment and torture cases at Guantanamo Bay nearly one quarter (22%) of the people abducted, kidnapped, falsely imprisoned and tortured there including by CIA personnel and/or contractors who were known to have documented mental challenges such as e.g. "anger management problems" who at least in one case threatened a CIA prisoner with a pistol and an electric drill and forced the prisoner to play "Russian Roulette" with him who was subsequently "sent home early" to face no disciplinary or other charges just like all other CIA torture operatives to date. It is not believed that anyone involved with these CIA imprisonment and torture programs may have secretly received the United States highest civilian "intelligence" award the "Intelligence Star".

PS -Although  countries "hosting" the CIA torture "Black Site" activities might credibly seem not to be deeply involved given the US-UK history as "partners in crime" CIA-MI6 complicity requires closer examination as the UK has requested all "classified pages" so far pulled from the public disclosure of the Torture Report. The official website of the Brtish Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) identifies MI6 as the name commonly used to identify SIS overseas operations to make the UK "safer and more prosperous". (Sounds as it could use a new webmaster with a better command of the English language.)

Center For Constitutional Rights Demands U.S. "Prosecute CIA Torturers" For Committing Crimes Under U.S. Laws, Signatory Treaties, Conventions - Is This The Bush Administration And CIA's Worst Nightmare: Accountability? Do Obama And DOJ Have The Courage To Stand Up To And Put Guilty Parties Behind Bars For Life Per Duly Enacted Laws Under U.S. Constitution Or Are They Too Afraid Of Monster U.S. Created? Please Stay Tuned

Thursday, 1 January 2015, WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Center For Constitutional Rights (CCR) widely recognized as the United States most highly regarded group of legal minds in the nation committed to fighting the most significant legal battles to uphold the United States Constitution in the face of the gravest threats to the integrity of that miraculously crafted compact which ultimately could cause the fall of the United States as we know it as conceived by the Founding Fathers and ratified by the several states, and thus one of the most vital group of patriots of our time fighting battles in the judicial system making sacrifices daily in the face of adversity just as those made by the many brave warriors prepared to go and who do go and have gone into the field of battle willing to make the supreme sacrifice to fight to protect and preserve the United States as we know it for this and future generations, demands that the United States "Prosecute CIA Torturers" for what actually are obvious crimes "on the books" under existing United States laws signatory treaties and conventions.
The CCR material provided here below clearly states this. This is neither a challenging nor difficult legal determination. The only question remaining is whether this Nation has the will to save itself now from the sorry dregs of a Bush (43) Administration that may well have bullied its way into the White House in the first place and now would have the audacity to spit in the eye of the Founding Fathers with a few trite quips from those who may have commandeered our Nation into the fields of disaster more than once already and would dare do it again from the highest level down to those CIA officials who even now are playing a most dangerous Constitutional game on the wrong side against the Senate Intelligence Committee with the CIA  trying even today to oversee those Constitutionally empowered and indeed required to oversee them and then further on down to those who actually carried out the acts of torture.
The CIA is not a fourth branch of government. Ultimately as an executive branch agency it is under the command and control of President Obama alone. If the CIA believes it is otherwise and acts under that delusion with its usual tired bag of dirty tricks supplemented by misinformation, disinformation, no information and just plain lies as obviously demonstrated by the groundless "debate" raging over the so-called "Panetta Report" which reportedly not only proves the CIA knowingly has provided "information" to those in the Senate who would oversee it which the CIA has known to be false (itself punishable when such lies are told to a Congressional Committee under sworn oath) but further which validates the 6,000+ page Torture Report painstakingly prepared by incredibly dedicated Senate staffers even in the face of every ridiculously incredibly costly to taxpayers burdensome obstacle, smokescreen and outright refusal the CIA could come up with to the point of hacking the computers of those charged with overseeing it and even further making serious allegations against its overseers for what if anything would appear to be nothing but its own ineptitude in releasing material most significantly the "Panetta Report" which it should have turned over willingly anyway yet instead persists in such uncooperative antagonistic behavior even further fabricating bogus non-existent privileges as if it were in litigation and represented by counsel either of such a low caliber and/or so morally bankrupt as to call to question their fitness to practice law, well then, Houston we have a problem here.
Very few people want to go to prison. No one wants to go to a secret ghastly CIA prison torture chamber. But the desperate fear of a group of torturers who have clearly broken laws prohibiting torture and now would go to any length to avoid punishment, government officials and/or agents or not, carries no weight at all in their trying to escape what now should be the inevitable consequences of their being tried in a court of law and if convicted serving the time for doing the crime. Especially when their actions have been so anathema to the most fundamental values which are the foundation of the United States Constitution and literally define this American nation which to the extent it has not fully achieved them always in practice nevertheless forever strives to bring itself closer to them.
No person and certainly not Dick Cheney of all people as well as those all the way down the line to those who were responsible for and those who carried out these horribly despicable atrocious heinous acts of torture should escape accountability. Moreover the United States Constitution has suffered far too much damage already as a result of their actions as any thinking American might imagine had the Founding Fathers believed that their incredibly miraculous work that summer over two and a quarter centuries ago in drafting the United States Constitution might create a country that could even possibly not only practice acts of crime against humanity but actually condone torture implicitly by failing to punish those responsible for its commission merely out of fear of their baseless bluster and constant attempts at bullying the Ninth Amendment editorial board believes the Founding Fathers would have been sickened to the point of vomiting at the thought of the creation of not a framework for government that would be an enduring model for and envy of the world but instead a monster that of course inevitably should and must crumble.
Finally perhaps the most immediately compelling reason to see the investigation and prosecution of these horrendous acts of torture through to their final conclusion have been widely noted to be captured by the characteristically thoughtless but in this case ominously laden words of Dick Cheney himself which the Center for Constitutional Rights highlights in its unequivocal statement of why the United States must without doubt "Prosecute CIA Torturers".
Stop calling it a "debate." There is nothing to debate. Torture is both illegal and immoral, plain and simple. Prosecuting torturers is not a new concept. As CCR's Baher Azmy argues in this op-ed for USA TODAY, "U.S. law specifically punishes torture as a war crime that carries a life sentence. And, under a treaty the U.S. helped draft and President Reagan signed in 1988, called the Convention Against Torture, there are no exceptions to allow for torture, even in extreme circumstances."http://usat.ly/1CvmoWO

The Ninth Amendment Editorial Board for interested/concerned readers concerning unapologetic attitudes of some other U.S. national security officials concerning their repeated illegal "official" actions violating core Constitutional rights including possible lead roles in  ordering/condoning torture activities constituting human rights violations violating U.S. law and international signatory treaties and conventions for which they express not only no remorse but an apparent willingness immediately to engage in other similar illegal activities are referred to the Ninth Amendment 11 October 2014 post concerning General William C. Hayden which is linked to at http://waronnothing.blogspot.com/2014/10/we-kill-people-based-on-metadata.html.

C.I.A. Outrages New York Times Entire Editorial Board As Times Condemns Rogue C.I.A. Spy Agency Disguised Scheme And Demands C.I.A. "Shocking Plan To Purge The Email Record Of Most Of Its Employees Must Be Stopped"

Sunday, 7 December 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - The CIA's latest exposed especially sneaky domestic bureaucratic plot this time trying to trick its fellow federal employees into being unwittingly accomplices in attempting once again to cover its guilty ass and not to be held to stricter transparency rules necessary because it is a publicly accountable government agency rather than the lack of routine scrutiny appropriate for the ordinary private ordinary citizen protected by the U.S Constitution and Bill of Rights doubtless attempted here because the C.I.A. has come to view itself as "above the rest of us" due to its frequent apparent temporary success to date most often escaping all accountability for a long history of illegal and criminal acts including torture and murder both now known and yet to be discovered in which CIA officials in the case at hand participate in conspiring to afford themselves the luxury to "disappear" from the National Archives and Records Administration all of the (potentially very incriminating) emails of all of its employees after three (3) years separation from service except its topmost 22 C.I.A. managers disingenuously insultingly disguised as a part of a federal initiative merely to reduce supposedly "worthless" government archived records.
This "shocking plan" since has been exposed by U.S. Senators Feinstein and Chambliss of the Senate Intelligence Committee and condemned by the New York Times entire editorial board as yet another dark shadows operation "in plain sight" attempting to erase C.I.A. bad deeds this time in an effort permanently to "purge the emails of most of its employees" which doubtless mistakenly preserve details of things such as failed attacks on foreign governments and expected unwarned of domestic blowback not to mention black site waterboarding and other sick forms of torture and doubtless the latest C.I.A. hatched remote drone and other group assassinations with untold collateral damage by this century's new "lethal surveillance teams" killing humans as if they were characters on computer game screens all of which emails apparently never even had to be preserved in the first place as it apparently is C.I.A. "policy" that employees only print out and keep emails of what in their own unfettered and unreviewed discretion they deem to be important although for all they know the N.S.A. in its huge overflowing computer servers or some other "national security" entity most probably is retaining all the C.I.A.'s email metadata traffic as well as everyone else's perhaps in case some inside turf war becomes real ugly especially with that ATF Bureau out there looking desperately for years now for a purpose ever since its failed Koresh compound Waco publicity fiasco in which the FBI helped really put the final nail in the coffin although who in their right mind would give the ATF even a baby Macintosh suitable for playing "Asteroids" as it might actually goodness forbid really screw things up and accidentally not lose the hand-scrawled record of some recent purchaser of enough arms ammunition and body armor to outfit a modest army and thus prevent some NRA owned politician from being re-elected.
This C.I.A. email destruction and avoidance practice is completely at odds with and in glaring exception to the United States rogue spy agencies' led by an NSA run amok intention to effect the total permanent illegal retention keeping full text records of its unconstitutional historical and continuing universal domestic spying and surveillance metadata email stealing sweep in absolute violation of the Bill Of Rights starting with the NSA "special source" Operation Prism of all United States citizens in which the NSA secretly indiscriminately illegally intercepted and retained all private citizens emails for which responsible NSA officials long ago should have been thrown in prison in which now the C.I.A. latest records destruction scheme reflects as ever the agency's ceaseless attempts to stay one step ahead of and two steps above the law doing its best to snub all requirements of government transparency and accountability in which elements of the C.I.A. and its brethren "national security" agencies at the same time through the persistence of a fundamentally criminal culture lay waste to the brilliant unique and remarkable foundation of principles and practices set forth in the United States Constitution they are sworn to uphold but nevertheless mindlessly bent on eventually destroying despite being the core essence of this Nation they are tasked with protecting .
