Medical Identity Theft Reportedly The Fastest Growing Type Of Identity Theft

Sunday, 29 March 2015, WASHINGTON, D.C. - Medical Identity Theft reportedly is the fastest-growing form of identity theft especially with millions of Americans' personal information having been stolen from corporate employers as well as other corporations and institutions keeping individuals' information. According to the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC):

"A thief may use your name or health insurance numbers to see a doctor, get prescription drugs, file claims with your insurance provider, or get other care. If the thief’s health information is mixed with yours, your treatment, insurance and payment records, and credit report may be affected. If you see signs of medical identity theft, order copies of your records and check for mistakes. You have the right to see your records and have mistakes corrected."

Moreover the monetization of medical information reportedly has given thieves further incentive to steal medical information in order to sell it. The FTC Consumer Information site linked to below provides reader-friendly information on detecting medical identity theft, correcting mistakes in your medical records, protecting your medical information and checking for other identity theft problems. The FTC site also provides easily accessible information on a broad range of other consumer topics.

In Final Texas Governor TV Debate State Senator Wendy Davis KO's Corrupt GOP AG "Payday" Greg "Dark Money" Abbott As Abbott Hangs To Long Failed Perry Policies And Davis Reels Off Laundry List Of Abbott Corrupt Official Actions Bought By Dark Money Payoffs Leaving Abbott Defenseless Spouting Empty Drivel

Wednesday, 1 October 2014, DALLAS, TX - Millions of Texans last night saw exactly what package of used dirty junk goods they would be buying were they to elect as Governor corrupt GOP A.G. "Payday" Greg "Dark Money" Abbott a squirrelly hollow puppet of big dirty "dark money" donors who has made a career of outright accepting illegal "contributions" form dirty entities as to which he has had official decisions pending (and consistently found in their favor) and from groups such as "Payday Loan Stores" to allow loopholes for them letting them collect obscene usurious interest rates on "loans" at far above Texas criminal usury rates to good hard working Texans as well as Abbott grabbing additional large sums of money from chemical companies just before deciding that the location of huge stockpiles of chemicals they stored and dumped even on properties neighboring homes, churches, schools or anywhere else throughout the State did not have to be disclosed to Texans under any circumstances at all regardless of what hazards and dangers they might pose to all in the vicinity who did not even know they were there and then as he was directly asked about but failed to acknowledge also along came Abbott pocket-lining insurance companies running amok raising Texans' homeowner insurance premiums relentlessly with no required prior state review of increases whatsoever under a Republican insurance commissioner who Wendy Davis identified as being completely in big insurance pockets to which Abbott par for the course made no objection nor response other than that he was not an actuary.
Typical of all Abbott responses which were either lies, omissions or promises of fantasyland improvements with no plausible explanation at all of how they would be accomplished in which he obviously had no conviction whatsoever to things particularly such as education and highways based on Perry disastrous policies that he would not change at all. Abbott volunteered nothing about his close connections and payoffs from payday loan stores, chemical stockpilers and polluters, super-rich insurance companies robbing Texas homeowners blind with outrageous premium increases and who knows how many others who had paid him off for favorable official decisions as Attorney General and have dumped dark money into his campaign coffers drooling for the day when they can own him completely as Governor.  He also virtually assured Texans that like Perry he would reject 100s of billions of dollars in federal funding so that Texas would not have to follow guidelines from the federal governement despite the pleas of Republican chambers of commerce and judges around the state that he not do so just so that as Wendy Davis put it Texans' federal taxes could keep going to Washington and coming back to California and New York for which she described "Abbott as California's best friend".
Abbott further said he would continue to oppose abortions even for victims of rape and incest be he was "a Catholic". He responded to Wendy Davis' challenge that he as Governor veto any legislative attempt to terminate Texas' so-called "Dream Act" which sets out an official policy for allowing undocumented aliens to continue their studies with higher education.  Abbott also reiterated his opposition to providing any schooling for undocumented aliens as well as a mechanism proposed by Wendy Davis whereby they could obtain some form of driver identification that would allow them to legally operate cars and therefore be able to buy insurance as she argued that Texas must accept the current reality that many driving on Texas roads anyway have no means of getting insurance which situation Wendy Davis described as a constant source of large-scale complaint from her constituents involved in accidents with uninsured drivers.  Abbott simply took the position the nothing should be done to provide education or means for undocumented aliens to drive and purchase insurance because it was symptomatic of much larger immigration problems of a broken system which the federal government was responsible for fixing.
He made no acknowledgment of the fact that the system has been broken for decades because of competing demands by powerful interests for strict immigration reform fundamentally opposed by the reality that major employers depend entirely on the availability of such labor willing to take below a living wage in order for their businesses to survive. Apparently scant attention has been paid to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's admonition reflecting the longevity of this huge obstacle to immigration reform when he declared during his own Presidency seventy-five years ago that "[a]ny business which depends for its survival on labor paid below a living wage has no place in this country".
If Texans take a good look at anything or even any look at all beyond a thirty-second Abbott TV commercial at this sorry excuse for a man much less a Texan and compare him to a true fighting Texas champion such as Senator Wendy Davis who actually was the will and endurance to hold tight and smack right back in the thick of it already having worked hard for years to make the improvements for Texas she spoke of realities when she is Governor then it is plain to see that pitiful Abbott with his handful of rich dirty masters of his every decision and who will own him in the office they will spend every last taxpayer dollar he illegally gives them to buy him Texas' Governorship that Abbott should in all fairness not stand a chance of winning anything but a seat in the Big House where he has so mercilessly sent so many others for life (and death) even if they can hardly count to three.
This typifies Abbott whose debate responses made it clear that honest, decent, hard-working Texans were not going to have a chance in hell from this corrupt indicted Perry policy clone to advance  themselves be it at their homes, work, school, church, healthcare non-provider nor anything meaningful at all in their lives because if they allow this corrupt old boy completely out of tune with the present realities of the Nation's second most populous state they will continue to have no friend at all in the Texas Governor's mansion.
Just more of the same that is driving all but the very richest in and out of the state into the more and more contaminated and paved ground under more polluted water and the dirtiest skies in the Nation suffering on in the continued Texas "freefall" started by the so-called indicted Perry Texas "miracle" of taking a great state with strong schools and clean environment and reasonable health and safety laws and standards to one where as the Republican dying old boy network mumbles and drools repeatedly that Texans have the "right to work" only problem being that that is hard to appreciate when one is dead from lack of training and prematurely ended education, health care, most every social service and unable to breathe the air befouled the air by the likes of Perry, Abbott and the whole rotten GOP crowd's "dark money" Texas-spoiling cronies propping them up in office to do their bidding.
In truth it is a complete mystery why Abbott and his old boy cronies and those who pay them off are not already in federal prison given that their boss corrupt indicted GOP Texas Idiot Governor Rick "Payback" Perry despite all his mockery of the criminal justice system may soon be there himself for a maximum term of 99 years. In the meantime for those who missed it Abbott was so confused by his own lies and omissions by the end of the debate that he called himself "Governor" of Texas when he told all he had not done (actually as Attorney General) but would when he was "Governor" .
Finally in one of Abbott's most disingenuous moments of the debate when Senator Wendy Davis referred to the $100 million that Abbott now has received back in Texas taxpayers' money from recipients of Texas Enterprise Fund millions meant to promote Texas businesses but who had never even filed applications for the money that Abbott's office was required to collect and evaluate and maintain but now reports are nowhere to be found Abbott claimed he was "glad' that she had brought it up as he was always grateful to be apprised of such new information. New information indeed as Abbott no doubt is perfectly aware that the Texas Enterprise Fund applications are as Senator Wendy Davis charged the responsibility of Abbott's office to manage and it would seem most unlikely that Abbott was unaware he received $100 million dollars in return from recipients who had never even applied for funds meant to promote Texas business enterprises and not to reward the responsible Texas state official who had allowed them to be disbursed to parties who had not even requested them.
And this comes as news to Perry's Attorney General Texas chief law enforcer (or was it violator) Abbott?  These guys should keep recording devices under their desks (if Perry even has a desk) because things are beginning to sound eerily similar to their fellow party hero Richard Nixon and his co-conspirators shrugging off their crimes (recorded a on taping mechanism maintained on the orders of Nixon himself) right until days before Nixon would find himself to the first and only President in United States history forced to resign from office because of his criminal acts.
Incidentally after watching Perry engaging in continuous corrupt actions and Abbott speechless but unapologetic in the face being confronted by a laundry list of his criminal payoffs and tainted official acts even as the State's highest law "enforcement" official one may perhaps understand the absence of Texas law enforcement on the scene since virtually everyone in Texas civil service owes their job to Perry at this point because of his interminable Governorship and because of his amply demonstrated willingness to flaunt the law abusing his office with reprisals and paybacks routinely without any apparent reprercussion. But one must ask where the hell the rest of the feds have been in Texas? Is this the south side of Boston where the mob owns the feds or what?
One might suspect with good reason that the Texas good old boys own the feds here as well given the feds' complacency in the face of seemingly largely unconcealed wrongdoing at least until bringing back the recent grand jury indictment against the "debate miracle" brain dead still standing idiot Texas Governor Rick "Payback" Perry hustled back off to run Texas to get some glasses and continue as Texas Governor again and now reputed 2016 Presidential re-hopeful provided his is not in prison and his handlers can squeeze enough WD-40 into his above-the-shoulder orifices as least to keep him running for about two minutes at a time like a dying horse getting that last shot of speed before the final laps of his career or the boxer slobbering against the ropes pumped up for one last round and pointed and prodded in the direction of the opponent before the fight is called and he is sent off for permanent "recuperation" never again to appear in the ring or even speak a complete sentence in public.

Insured Patients Who Go To "In-Network" Hospitals Ambushed By Huge Bills From "Contract" ER Doctors Who Accept No Insurance

Tuesday, 30 September 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - The New York Times in the first of a series of articles on the shameful state of the United States healthcare system to which interested readers may follow the below link reports that fully insured patients who are careful to use "in-network" hospitals still are increasingly completely ambushed by later surprise huge bills particularly for "contract" Emergency Room (ER) physicians by whom they have no choice but to be seen having been made to sign mountains of forms when usually waiting in distress in the ER which they are in no condition to read nor understand but are given to believe they must sign or die which means they essentially are signing under duress incomprehensible to them pre-prepared documents with no opportunity and in no condition to understand nor give meaningful agreement.
This effectively means these piles of documents are worse even than for example the printed insurance company "adhesion contracts" which courts invalidated as unenforceable non-contracts almost a century ago as not fulfilling fundamental requirements of contract law such as a meeting of the minds and moreover being completely invalidated by the fact that attempts to bind people to such documents merely by having them sign them in such circumstances is per se unconscionable. As by the way are the fees often charged by the ER "contract" doctors as documented in the Times article which gives examples of even physicians bringing family members in for care and objecting to "contract" ER doctor bills as absolutely outrageous. Also when being gouged for such simple things as putting in eight stitches later followed by a surprise out-of-network surgeon's bill for $4,878.
Apparently many ER doctors often just gouge completely uninformed patients for relatively simple procedures because being an "ER doctor" was not even a specialty until the 1980's meaning that if any complicated medical work has to be done it still needs to be done by an actual medical specialist and not just someone who is merely a specialist at overbilling unknowing patients in distress and protecting their precious medical licenses by undermedicating patients in serious pain and distress because they are too scared of the DEA, the FDA and/or the state medical board so whenever possible they leave that risky problem to the actual treating physician they tell patients they must see as soon as possible anyway.
The Ninth Amendment wishes this could be said to be the exception and not the rule but the hard numbers prove otherwise. There have to be a great many ER doctors seriously overcharging to have in a period of just the past four years driven the average ER doctor's annual income up from $247,000 to $311,000 during an era of near zero and even negative inflation and when the average American's real income has not even yet risen back to previous levels. The Times horror stories include an ER physician charging $2,000 for having a patient hooked up to a heart monitor for a few hours before being released. In the stitching case mentioned above an out-of-network surgeon (not ER doctor) saved the day in the ER by putting eight stitches in a girl's chin and later charging $4,878 creatively coding his valiant work as "open wound, jaw, complicated". The Times did not detail if "complicated" referred to the procedure of putting in eight stitches or for thinking up a word that could possibly justify charging that amount for putting in just eight stitches and not getting sued (good thing it was not Medicare).
Likewise ER physicians' overcharging now has driven up their average annual incomes to more than that of all the previously most notoriously expensive out-of-network specialists being anesthesiologists, radiologists and pathologists (who best we recall often used to be want-to-be surgeons with challenges like alcohol problems who were directed away to a specialty where the patients were already dead) for basically looking at bloodwork, ordering x-rays, oh yes having nurses glance at heart monitors, and interrogating any patient who believes they need medicine that the physician possibly believes might be abused with any subsequent doctor then de rigeur giving an inconsistent explanation of why it cannot be prescribed.
It has been the experience of the Ninth Amendment that most but not all such physicians lie to patients on such matters more creatively than many law enforcement officers sworn on a witness stand and that is pretty bad. Even the ER physicians' spokesman Dr. Jeffrey Bettinger, chairman of the reimbursement committee of the American College of Emergency Physicians, apparently could not help himself from lying to the New York Times when he "said that out-of-network emergency room doctors were an unusual phenomenon and expressed doubt that the practice was widespread".  Actually the Times reported that the occurrence of out-or-network emergency room doctors indeed was "widespread" having now risen to an overwhelming 65% in the Nation's emergency rooms.
In fact the Ninth Amendment actually has been informed by emergency physicians for example in a Florida hospital that it is the policy of the State of Florida that because of the high level of abuse of pain medication that patients no longer can be treated at the hospital for previously existing pain conditions.  We suggest the license plate slogan be changed from "Florida The Sunshine State" to "Florida It Is Going To Hurt A Little" superimposed over a five thousand dollar invoice rather than an orange. When the Ninth Amendment asked nurses if they had had many cases of deaths by prescription pain medicine overdoses coming in to the hospital they were able to remember none other than ones in which hospital anesthesiologists had accidentally given patients additional doses of pain medicine on the operating table after they forgot they already had given patients pain medicine which then overdosed them. Anyway pain apparently is now one less worry for ER "specialists" at least in Florida since they can let the State and the DEA practice medicine without a license and just follow orders and not treat it.
THE NINTH AMENDMENT IS IN NO WAY QUALIFIED TO PROVIDE MEDICAL NOR LEGAL ADVICE. READERS SEEKING LEGAL OR MEDICAL ADVICE OR CARE MUST CONSULT A PROPERLY QUALIFIED LICENSED LEGAL OR MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.
The Ninth Amendment sympathizes that the situation exposed by the New York Times in the article with link below describes an impossibly frustrating situation for even readers who take every possible reasonable step to see that they are not shocked by what would seem to be a blatantly unfair circumstance that may arise especially in the case of a medical emergency for which they rightfully believe they have taken all apparent possible prudent precautions to avoid surprise unscrupulous catastrophic costs and expenses for which they have purchased and/or arranged insurance or other health cost coverage to the best of their ability.
It is apparent that the Times describes a healthcare system that is broken and completely unworthy of a country blessed with the great God-given resources of our Nation. How can President Obama repeatedly say in good conscience that the United States has "the best military the world has ever known" fully aware that he can say no such thing about the United States healthcare system? Although the Ninth Amendment can offer no suggestion at this time of a considered workable long-term solution it is our lay opinion in the meantime that given our understanding that all hospitals are obligated to provide emergency medical care to all patients who enter in need of it until such time as they have been stabilized properly with appropriate arrangements made for their continued care that the signing of prepared documentation in conditions such as those as set forth above is arguably unconscionable and cannot be a requirement of necessary medical treatment.
Rather than argue the point based on past experience we would be inclined to refrain from signing documents which we are in no condition to understand nor able to meaningfully signify agreement but rather simply scribble "I willl not pay" and hand them back as if they had been signed. But then that may just be us.

BREAKING NEWS MANHATTAN: U.S. Drone Reportedly Crashes In Manhattan (After Government Gas Runs Out) Picked Up By Curious Bystander Who Examines Photocard

Thursday, 3 October 2013, MANHATTAN- CBS Television News reported that just over SEVENTEEN HOURS AGO, when mostly freshman United States Representatives and their idiot House loser leader Boehner along with lost Senate Republican freshman prodigy Ted Cruz (no known relation to the actor) cut of the money for all Americans' headwear just as flu season started, cut off the temporary funds to keep the government afloat with temporary money, and forced the entire United States to stop work and defer paying millions of its Federal employees sending most of them home with no pay for the coming weeks. The Congress is not believed to have chosen to do the same to itself. Meanwhile as we prepared for press reports began coming in from CBS-TV news in New York that a (nonexistent) drone has crashed on a busy street (are they not all) in Manhattan? No government gas.
Except the really important adolescents who work for the National Security Agencies and those who pack lox lunches and dinners for the generally heavier old Republicans before they go home and pat themselves on the back, Senator Cruz reportedly was either delirious or under the influence of borderline "brain death". Not unlike his beloved protege lame duck Texas "Village Idiot" Rick "Payback" Perry had been at the now infamous Republican nationally televised "Perry brain freeze". Whatever the case Cruz is a Senator with high hopes in the Republican party for carrying the mantle of the "Tea Party Republicans" boldly into the fully forseeable budget disaster which awaits us all.
Although frugal California Governor Jerry Brown has not ever even been known to set foot in his "California" limo or mothballed "mansion", Texas Brain Duck Governor George "little shrub" Perry could be seen to once again shed a crocodile tear as Bush gleefully loaded his laser-sighted six shooter with some extra bullets in his mouth for good luck. "Better bullets than bandaids" the really extremely  short Perry reportedly quipped as he accidentally clipped a tree beside his beloved Labrador and sent his bodyguards diving for cover from his errant bullets which could have bought vaccine for a whole clinic.
As reported here some weeks ago the relatively tiny and shrinking number of Texas "Tea Party" dupes see Perry idiot protege Senator Steve Cruz as the flag bearer of the "Tea Party" mantle that confused ignorant hope for salvation, having squandered earlier money on nonexistent coyote problems and boldly living out the fantasy of the "Tea Party King". (Some of those American Republicans sure do like Kings, like George of England.) They know on which side their toast is dusted.
So Senator Cruz finally last night had to be physically escorted from the House of Representatives reminded that he is a big Senator now but NOT also a Congressional Republican Representative who does NOT get to vote twice to dump our Nation's living and eating money as might have been expected by this latest disastrous Republican financial "hero of ruin".
And just the most recent Republican to take the Country down the sewer drain amidst fear, stupidity and recrimination. The most memorable last financial disaster of a sick fear-mongering Republican, well that would of course be just another long-time dope addict's run taking the Country along on the road to financial ruin was Republican star Senator McCarthy. As Cruz quivered wondering what next Mengelian medical research hare-brained scheme Republicans (many of whom are too stupid to marticulate from an accredited United States Law School and in any case not be able to succeed on their medical boards without a good deal of  grease-fillled Republican hand-squeezing).
At least Senator Cruz can take comfort that he is not the only one in over his had as clearly now after his SECOND totally failed chance to divert further compounding of Republican-created disasters in a totally bad faith disingenuous last minute call unbelievably AGAIN to meet with President Obama TWENTY MINUTES before they lock up the government BOEHNER a COUPLE YEARS LATER STILL WANTS TO BE PLAYING with dredging up decades of yet more new dead old issues in a desperate attempt to run down the clock. The United States does not just have to close up the public restroom here and say, phew! that was a close one.
And they even try to make the Republicans look like someone's heroes? Who their mothers? Do the Republicans WHO CAN ALWAYS SEE THE DOCTOR WHENEVER THEY WANT really believe that for making sure that the Americans' long ago duly fully legally passed universal health care is further diverted while these Speaker Boehner and fellow turkey Republicans play cock-a-doodle-doo with the real hard-working Americns' need for life and death health care now is going to make them some kind of heroes for thinking up stupid old lies as fast they can to kill off the people who voted for them?
Now that is over how about a litttle time to go out and get a little cash in the palms, eh eh? Heck, their voters can wait all day in the emergency room for basic medical care (paid for by the State not the Feds mind you readers) for a while longer just like always (and probably catch something far worse while they are waiting in that germ pit.)
No dice for the hot shot Republicans until after they have gone round and gotten paid off by all their insurance company pals and the people THOSE REPUBLICANS REALLY REPRESENT. We know they will be going to see their doctors in the morning, getting paid their Congressional salaries and honorariums and a little of this and a little of that just a small gift oh just fine, and sitting down for a nice steak dinner for lunch before they go to sleep with a job well -- NOT done. But just that one last thing must be sure to collect the dues BEFORE the pressure is off, right?  Oh yes indeed it is business as usual in the Grand Old Party, just do not get stomped on (or worse) by that big old elephant. . . . . Because we will sure want to see you still when we need next need you.
