Sunday, 7 September 2014, GENEVA - The Ninth Amendment editorial board cannot even nearly keep abreast of what seem to have become more or less daily (just) public revelations about the constant escalation of (just) domestic encroachments on readers' privacy ranging from the "private" sector to the "public" sector and everything in the gray area between as perpetrated in recent years most flagrantly by the wretchedly illegal unconstitutional actions of the likes of the NSA and the seemingly ever exponentially expanding number of new U.S. Government acronymed agencies which proceed headlong as if they entirely have forgotten (if the latest generation ever even knew of) the People's fundamental inalienable rights as opposed to the limited power of the State only as expressly revocably granted it by the People under the U.S. Constitution. Not to mention Benjamin Franklin's stark admonition that "[t]hose who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety".
Likewise the Ninth Amendment editorial board swiftly has come to the realization that just as it is in no position even nearly comprehensively to document and record the above relentless encroachments on the privacy of the individual it is equally ill-equipped neither to document nor offer well-informed assessments of the strengths and weaknesses of various known available means of attempting rightfully to protect and preserve one's privacy even in as limited but significant an area as e-mail communications.
Having said that merely upon setting out just to bring to readers' attention with even minimal evaluation some few first e-mail services making heightened privacy claims such as Gmail, Hushmail and Startmail (now in beta) it readily became apparent that each was rife with complications such as that Gmail of course is a product of the ever-suspect Google known to scan e-mails for targeted advertising purposes, Hushmail although based in Canada is subject to the whims of the CSIS in seeking warrants which on further inquiry seemed at least as likely as the United States' own "intelligence" services if not more so to bumble into seeking access to innocuous encrypted e-mails stored in British Columbian servers, and as for Startmail now available in beta the Ninth Amendment admittedly by that point did not even further investigate what potential weaknesses might or might not be claimed or have merit or not as to that service. The Ninth Amendment certainly does not mean to discourage readers from making their own decisions about these e-mail providers and in fact vigorously encourages those who are serious about their e-mail privacy to make their own investigations into the fitness of each of those services and others for readers' particular needs and comfort levels.
Rather than give up the endeavor altogether however the Ninth Amendment was fortunate on further inquiry into e-mail privacy assessments made by others to find that the venerable Forbes magazine just months ago in an issue largely devoted to computer-age security issues included an article with link below that made the pronouncement echoed in the post heading above as to ProtonMail https://protonmail.ch that it is "[t]he only e-mail system that the NSA cannot access". Interested readers are invited to visit the link below to the Forbes assessment where they might find the credentials of the creators of ProtonMail just as impressive as we at the Ninth Amendment have.
Also by following the above link or that in the Forbes article to this e-mail service with servers located in Geneva and protected by legendary strict Swiss privacy laws as well as with a satellite office on the MIT campus readers will find that the ProtonMail service has indeed proven very much in demand from the start although at least with limited storage it has decided to offer its service for free funded initially only by donations reportedly taking into account particularly those in countries such as Russia or China unable to pay fees but in very real need of e-mail privacy where an unencrypted e-mail message can reportedly lead to a very swift arrest indeed.
The Ninth Amendment upon coming across ProtonMail wished to make this information available to our readers as soon as possible as consistent with the Forbes article we found upon visiting the Create Account ProtonMail webpage that the service already is at full capacity but taking usernames for a waitlist to be followed up by invitations to the service as more servers constantly come on line thanks apparently to a most generous flow of donations shown on the webpage at the time of this post to be more than one half million dollars.

The Ninth Amendment to the Constitution is the strongest statement therein that powers not expressly granted the State are retained as rights of the People. Sunday, 24 January 2014, McMURDO NAVAL AIR STATION AND LANDFILL - With Ninth Amendment readers now spanning most of the Northern Hemisphere and especially American diplomatic, military and National Security facilities it is most always a pleasure to welcome new readers from new countries and parts of the world seeking the truth whether it hails from North, East, West, or, yes, South. For reasons of prudence our long-time readers will know that when unfamiliar servers, countries and IP addresses not known to us to be associated with our blogging friends at Google and their CIA partners make themselves apparent to our military-trained IT and cryptography specialists it is our habit to share some of that new information available to those of our readers who may be interested.
Some of the newest countries purportedly to have joined us have been the United Arab Emirates and as noted in the above "Welcome" the formerly reputedly pastoral country of New Zealand (believed by those who have never been there or off the tourist bus nor ferry in any case, to be one of the least governmentally corrupt countries in the world along with Canada. That new provided server IP address 184.105.8293 (IPV4 more likely IPV5) apparently serving us intermittently since at least 13 October 2013 is not, in fact, in good old Mountain View, California but instead identifies its location as, yes, the United Arab Emirates running through Chrome 11.0 on a Linux platform.
In any case as we like to say the BAMA-OBAMA-SAS-CIA-NSA-MI5 Do It Again, Babe! Misinformation-Disinformation Shuffle it is all the same to us so long as the truth reaches our readers (even if the demographics may confuse our advertisers a bit). GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.

We will not further belabor the point in a world full of compelling and significant news as we already have spent far enough space in these past weeks fully documenting the apparently freshly illegal footsteps leading right to and through the doors and drawers of our computers, servers, files, and other information repositories and means of communication with our public. Several weeks back we even provided in HEADLINES the exact phone numbers which have ADMINISTRATED our accounts without our ever having provided them to anyone for the purposes, websites and URLS which have mysteriously shown a suddenly enormous amount of interest in our otherwise rather more limited audience political satire posts, and so on.
Let us distill it to the following evidence that should it in fact prove that which it strongly tends to suggest to be true should provide more than enough fodder for plea bargains and prison sentences of downright UGLY terms. In the course of this education the Ninth Amendment has learned much and as always wishes to share some of that knowledge with our readers. To wit: SEARCH ENGINES: Google and we do not know how many others now save your EVERY search just in case you were interested or had any illusion of privacy left.
Your every log in and log off of many different accounts, not to mention all changes or even just oddities of settings and habits are now RECORDED. Our dear readers no doubt already are aware that without near-constant diligence with an array of "add-ons", programs, toolbars, sledgehammers and who knows what else YOUR EVERY MOVE IS TRACKED. And it seems that everything that is not constantly updated immediately should be suspected of, what?, started to spy on readers, of course. Just do a little reading on, say, Mozilla.org creators of the Firefox browser. Go ahead, we dare you.
In any case we relate the following. By going into our Google accounts section (recall co-owned by the CIA), settings/security/activity, we can get a fairly quick snapshot of what has been going on with log ins and offs, password changes, location of work changes, server changes, IP address changes, etc. Upon doing this we were surprised to come upon the following. By the way, the way, the qrobe.it search engine available as a free Firefox add-on search engine allows us to look into all areas of interest with an https (secure?) connection privately searching terms of which it keeps no record and we would suppose leaves no trace.
The Ninth Amendment log was surprised to find that just about the time our many diverse interferences with service, authorizations of unauthorized accounts and phones to go into our e-mail and disrupt our posts, our I.P. address suddenly changed from a very long tedious unchanged list to a couple entries for 12.227.207.201 IP Address - State of California - Data Center Services - California Department of Technology, or Dts-mis. This IP stood out from a long San Francisco list but instead supplied the rather "broader" San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose. This location was not too hard too find for this Host Name California IP address, necessitating only a quick qrobe.it search yielding, ta-da, www.IPlocationfinder.com.
Seems that the "Recent Activity" in our "Google Accounts" in later July 2013 fell under the heading of "Notice of Unfamiliar Activity" (we all know about that, do we not?) Next thing we knew we were descending from the air toward the most recognizable intersection of Market and Van Ness Streets (yes same notorious southwest corner once home of Boas Honda before some incident we seem to remember from the 1990's was it already with a, well, too-young boy.) As we descended we learned that we were approaching IP latitude 37,7749, IP longitude -122.4194, "workplace" address home of the afore-mentioned California Department of Technology, now described by our computer as an agency which "Provides cost effective, large scale data processing and telecommunications (oh great!) services to the state, county, federal and local government. And us, apparently. AT&T Services we learned provides the address. Alas with just two entries on that location which apparently had been performing administrator functions including between our (unknown) "linked" Google accounts to (our previously unknown to exist) Picasa, Youtube, and our independent unrelated (we thought) e-mail account, Google sadly failed us, informing us that the sudden unrush was over as the prior two weeks of OUR July data apparently were disappeared just like that into a simple but powerful notice "Events unavailable prior to this date".
Funny seemed to us that about half of this past July had felt just about the same to us. Well written.

"Massive Cyberattack" Hits Internet Disrupts Worldwide Web Service Allgedly Launched By Cyberbunker, Others Against Non-Profit Spamhaus
Tuesday, 2 April 2013, AMSTERDAM - The Ninth Amendment's Amsterdam bureau reports corroborating information regarding what other sources including CNN have called a "massive cyberattack" allegedly launched by Dutch company Cyberbunker and other alleged conspirators last Friday, 29 March 2013 against non-profit Spamhaus Group which provides free data used by companies including many e-mail service providers to block up to 80% of the world's "spam" dissemination on the internet. Cyberbunker based in a former military bunker in Holland reportedly boasts that it provides servers for worldwide dissemination of any type of material except "child porn" or that aiding or abetting "terrorists".
The alleged Cyberbunker attack was reported to be a "denial of service" attack against Spamhaus which consists of directing overwhelming amounts of internet traffic to its servers so as to shut them down. Spamhaus in an effort to avoid being literally knocked off the internet employed a technique of redirecting the huge volume of traffic onto the internet, apparently in such great amounts that it subsequently impacted and significantly disrupted much of the internet's worldwide traffic. Although the alleged three-day Cyberbunker attack reportedly ended it has now been picked up by other hackers and/or presumably corporate enemies of non-profit Spamhaus.
Although this attack apparently has reached unparalleled proportions the perceived feud (at least by Cyberbunker) between Cyberbunker and Spamhaus reportedly has continued for some time. Although the Ninth Amendment at this time lacks information from law enforcement sources the private internet security firm engaged by Spamhaus has cast the alleged Cyberbunker attack as a debilitating denial of free speech on the internet whereas Spamhaus provision of data on entities such of spammers is entirely at the discretion of companies such as e-mail providers which voluntarily choose to use it to protect their computer and time resources as well as those of their users and customers.
This CNN report which readers may access directly from the link below was brought to the attention of many by Avast! Corporation along with the provision of a free routine upgrade. Avast! currently is the leading provider of free and subscription virus protection programs. Readers are advised that reviews of much free and subscription software such as Avast! are available at www.cnet.com along with free downloads. Many computer experts this year have withdrawn their top recommendation for Microsoft Security Essentials which readers can research on their own with simple internet searches.
Furthermore many computer experts such as the Ninth Amendment's own expert consultant BigBigJoe recommend that for most computer users choosing a single security software whether free or paid is one's most advisable course of action to, among other things, avoid conflicts between the different software which actually may identify elements of one another as various kinds of computer security threats and secondly because BigBigJoe recommends not overburdening one's computer with, excuse our English, too much "crap" that slows down or even causes one's computer eventually frequently to crash, resulting in one of most computer companies' favorite misconceptions.
That being that it is time to pull out one's wallet and "upgrade". Translation: Dump out more money for more processing/memory power to accommodate more unwanted garbage that often is merely dumped onto readers' computers with a variety of "clever", or perhaps borderline fraudulent, techniques. Alternatively to run poorly and sloppily written software which eats up unimaginable amounts of computer resources such as the programming for which Microsoft has earned its infamy amongst many of those apparently in the know.
Such as for example programmers for Microsoft and Apple who actually often do not use their own companies' software to write their "product" but instead rely on freeware such as Linux. Finally one way to avoid downloading unwanted software, toolbars, homepages, etc.is to refrain from running "express" downloads but instead choose the other option for "experts", i.e. those with the patience to review what actually is being downloaded along with their "free" software. After all, when it comes to for-profit America is anything really "free"? As we understand it, although we are not offering legal advice which can only be provided by a duly licensed attorney, in our lay understanding these corporations do have an obligation to maximize profits for shareholders within the limits of the law. The alleged Cyberbunker attack was reported to be a "denial of service" attack against Spamhaus which consists of directing overwhelming amounts of internet traffic to its servers so as to shut them down. Spamhaus in an effort to avoid being literally knocked off the internet employed a technique of redirecting the huge volume of traffic onto the internet, apparently in such great amounts that it subsequently impacted and significantly disrupted much of the internet's worldwide traffic. Although the alleged three-day Cyberbunker attack reportedly ended it has now been picked up by other hackers and/or presumably corporate enemies of non-profit Spamhaus.
Although this attack apparently has reached unparalleled proportions the perceived feud (at least by Cyberbunker) between Cyberbunker and Spamhaus reportedly has continued for some time. Although the Ninth Amendment at this time lacks information from law enforcement sources the private internet security firm engaged by Spamhaus has cast the alleged Cyberbunker attack as a debilitating denial of free speech on the internet whereas Spamhaus provision of data on entities such of spammers is entirely at the discretion of companies such as e-mail providers which voluntarily choose to use it to protect their computer and time resources as well as those of their users and customers.
