Friday, 6 April 2017, WASHINGTON, D.C. - Growing unease with President Trump's methodically worsening authoritarian tendencies with at least tacit approval emboldening those with racist and fascist proclivities at home and among autocrats and de facto dictators abroad as Trump shows himself utterly devoid of genuine coherent concern for the protection of human rights in which the United States long has taken a global leadership role is not devolving rapidly enough in those best placed to most immediately remove him from power despite such an urgent need being recognized by a great many others as necessary to do so as to avert some unpredictable grave national consequence(s).
Trump has lurched daily only further into the vast territory of greatly increased potential risks to the country as an impulsive erratic now largely "unmoored" President entirely consumed with serving the interests of his own narcissistic malignancy rather than those of the entire country of over 300 million he has sworn to govern selflessly while serving and protecting the constitutional democracy of the Nation. Yet instead the President foremost by his own example followed by that of his family and closest allies has reset standards for outrageous norms of tolerated senior executive government corruption, abuse of power, obstruction of justice and likely many far worse as yet unexposed activities at unprecedented levels which have come to light at least several times weekly as Trump manifests himself capable at an any point of recklessly unleashing some near limitless series of events with potentially disastrous consequences for the nation without apparent opportunity to stop him.
Under the circumstance of the United States actually having legitimately (possibly) by a minority of more than three million less citizens having voted this man into power, the warning four years earlier of retired Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter speaking of what ends a democracy seems eerily prescient. Justice Souter was appointed by President George H.W. Bush and was serving on the Court when it declared Bush v. Gore by a 5-4 decision to award George W. Bush the 2000 election presidential victory despite all the votes not yet having been counted. Justice Souter was on the losing side of the Court's vote being one of the four Justices voting against Bush being named president. Justice Souter resigned from the Court slightly over eight years later after President Barack Obama was sworn into office.
Back in his beloved New Hampshire after retirement Justice Souter rarely participated in public appearances. Justice Souter however had significant concern about the issue of "civic ignorance" and Americans need to remedy this in order not to lose their republic. Rather than a concern about a coup or some other means of force Souter clearly articulated that it was not that but the danger to democracy of the people falling for anyone who claimed he "alone could fix it" and warned that that "was what should keep you up at night." Souter quoted Benjamin Franklin leaving the Constitutional Convention having been asked on the street what kind of government the country would have under the Constitution. To which Franklin famously replied, "A republic, if you can keep it."

This profit goal further is reinforced by its owned NBC News whose president Andy Lack reportedly is to blame for the hiring of a raft of former FOX news hosts whom MSNBC viewers would have watched on FOX had they wanted to hear from those who rightly have earned their less than welcome status tainted by long years of association with a worldwide despicable network here in the United States willfully promoting a regression to ruinous American ignorance directly in service to the dangerous "fact free" diversionary Republican narrative to benefit the rich by sowing misdirection and ineffectiveness among the underprivileged effectively depriving them of informed participation in American democracy with these compromised FOX hosts only now inexplicably to be hoisted on MSNBC viewers.
Mr. Lack's addition of fired FOX Greta van Susteren for her new MSNBC ratings dive show quickly proved an obvious error confirmed with Ms. Susteren yanked now fired for the second time in a year this time by MSNBC barely after Mr. Lack tried to foist her unwelcome new hour on fleeing MSNBC viewers. Her departure must be followed by Lack's immediate firing of Lack's masochistic addition of the sickening abomination known as Hugh Hewitt to the MSNBC lineup an outrageous affront guaranteed to drive off droves more MSNBC viewers rather than be subjected to his "insights" about what Hewitt calls the "winning Trump administration".
Mr. Hewitt proves he has nothing but less than worthless dumbfounding bad "insights" obviously so astoundingly dead wrong as to pose no danger of misinforming and misdirecting any MSNBC viewers but rather sure to waste their valuable time which could easily be spent elsewhere rather than their allowing Hewitt to enrage them with his mind-bending belief he is "making his case" regarding the "winning Trump administration" for example incredibly by holding out insider stock trading while legislatively manipulating its price profiteer former Congressional healthcare-denying despicable physician who shall "do harm first" HHS Secretary Tom Price and moronic earth environment enemy #1 apparently overjoyed to neglect his duties of stewardship to his home state by joining in the celebration of the fracking industry as he benignly oversaw it render his home state of Oklahoma an earthquake disaster nearly overnight while otherwise spending his state taxpayer-funded time filing non-stop idiot lawsuits attempting to halt the EPA's most important work meanwhile wasting its scarce resources trying to interfere with and hinder its mission to protect human health and the environment only stopping because he had to so as incredibly to become the new EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt positioned now to dismantle his "own" agency instead directly from within with the distinction of his espoused Neanderthal views and science denial condemned even by the Pope himself (for God's sake) both of whom Price and Pruitt are held out by Mr. Hewitt in an op-ed as the Trump administration "domestic policy stars" no kidding this "real news" is set out in the last Washington Post link below.
If this nightmare of a jerk Hewitt (for whose intellect eyeglasses apparently provide no more of a boost than glasses have for idiot Rick Perry named Trump Energy Department Secretary although he as of a few years ago had no idea what it does) is not gone real soon with other new former FOX additions close behind before they destroy MSNBC it best be Lack himself that exits NBC ASAP as he indeed for one at least does appear to be living up to his name. This FOX to MSNBC infestation is all the more sickening as NBC News President Andy Lack seeks favor with the Trump GOP changing editorial content to "buy access" from the corrupt Trump administration to what rightfully should be free equal access to government briefings and question opportunities as well as interviews and special rides on presidential planes and so forth for NBC journalists which access rightly should be equally available to all free unfettered established press rather than any favored news outlets without regard for their "toeing the Trump party lies" and certainly not require they compromise core principles for access rightly available to all.

Wednesday, 7 January 2015, PARIS - News agencies now are reporting a midday lunch hour (Paris time) military-style terror attack about two hours ago by what are believed to be three (3) at large gunmen armed with AK-47s (Automatic Kalashnikov 1947) and a possible rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) on French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo" (the "Magazine") with a history of "poking fun" at the absurdity of various religious groups of all faiths including since 2006 of satirical cartoons of the prophet of Mohammad resulting in a previous terror attack firebombing in 2011 on the Magazine. The Magazine's current issue featured a cartoon of ISIS leader Al-Baghdadi. This is the worst terror attack on French soil in two decades. France now has declared itself to be highest level of alert for terrorist attacks. The magazine's name is derived from a defunct French magazine named "Charlie" after Charlie Brown. "Hebdo" strictly means "daily" although the Magazine apparently was actually a weekly.
The Magazine reportedly refused to be intimidated by either the 2011 terror attack nor continuing threats dating back to 2006 and was under 24/7 "heavy police protection" which just was recently scaled back for unknown reasons. Although journalist hostages previously have been executed by ISIS this is the first time that a news organization has been targeted by terrorists considerably widening attempts to stifle the voice of a free press. The gunmen apparently had significant intelligence as to the reduced security as well as the fact that they were attacking during the Magazine's editorial meeting. Nevertheless the gunmen first entered the wrong building at address number 6 where they were told it was not the Magazine offices at which point the gunmen went to number 10 and entered the Charlie Hebdo building.
The two or more masked gunmen apparently entered the editorial board meeting and specifically targeted the editor-in-chief as well as four famous cartoonists including the previously firebombed targeted cartoonist of the famous Mohammad 2011 cartoon killing ten (10) journalists altogether. Upon leaving the gunmen in perfect French with no accent said "Charlie is dead".
The black-clad masked heavily armed two (2) or possibly more gunmen were captured in "home" videos as well as a video briefly released then removed from the internet after they left the building. Although none of the videos or information developed so far show exact details of the killings of those at the Magazine's editorial meeting the videos do show the gunmen calmly firing their weapons in the street after apparently three policemen were engaged resulting in two wounded one of whom was wounded on the ground when a gunman calmly approached then executed with an AK-47 shot to head.
The gunmen shouted "God is Great" in perfect French as the assailants stood in the street and according to Reuters also shouted "We have avenged the Prophet". One police car left in the street showed a tight pattern of bullet holes in the windshield indicating a relatively high degree of training including not setting an AK-47 on automatic but first set on semi-automatic firing a tight pattern of three shots. The gunmen in contrast to prior terrorist attacks were not suicidal as they calmly left in at least one black sedan with one gunmen calmly even first stopping to pick up a sneaker the gunman apparently had lost. The gunmen then slowly drove away.
Although there were several lower profile attacks in Paris before Christmas as well as others thwarted before today's attack today's terror attack has "sent a shiver up the spine" of the French because of the attack's apparent military sophistication as well as the fact that the gunmen reportedly spoke perfect French. The French Interior Minister has assured the French that heavy security has been deployed to all critical French locations such as train stations, etc. Both he and the French Prime Minister assured the French that a full-scale manhunt is underway for three (3) "criminals" who he said will face a punishment commensurate with their crime.
United States President Barack Obama through his spokesperson Josh Earnest as well as in a his own statement sent to French officials said among other things that the United States "Stood shoulder to shoulder with France" which the President referred to as the United States' "Oldest Ally" perhaps referring to French assistance to Americans in the Revolutionary War and especially the French naval presence role in bringing that war to a conclusion with the surrounding of the English in the siege at Norfolk, Virginia at which point Lord Cornwallis surrendered. Of the United States executive branch agencies the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been the first and most vociferously offered to make its resources available to the French government upon request.
Meanwhile the Department of Homeland Security has taken the opportunity to complain that it has inadequate funding based on outdated needs of a few years ago. This has been attributed to the Republican government gridlock of the past couple years which has resulted among other things in the Republicans denying needed funding for perplexing reasons to the Department of Homeland Security meaning it is unable to be fully prepared to fulfill its duty in circumstances such as the present. The Ninth Amendment Editorial Board opines that hjopefully this strategy of shooting themselves in the foot will not continue to be the practice of Republicans now that they have taken control of the House of Representatives which many expect not to last for more than a period of two years during which time their ineptitude should become apparent to the American people from whom their limited power derives without causing too much more damage to these United States in the meantime.
Of particular concern to French authorities and all Western intelligence, security and law enforcement agencies is the fact that France with its large north Parisian Islamic largely unpoliced currently is estimated to have has many as 3,000 citizens who have joined ISIS along with thousands more from other European countries who after receiving training from ISIS or other terrorist groups may return with their valid passports to their home countries to wreak havoc.
