German Human Rights Group Filing War Crimes Charges Against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld And Other CIA Officials For Their Torturous Actions

Tuesday, 30 December 2014, BERLIN - The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, a human rights group in Berlin chaired by Michael Ratner president emeritus of the U.S.-based Center for Constitutional Rights, reportedly is filing criminal complaints indicting former not-really-elected "President" George Bush (Bush 43), former not-really-elected Vice President "Pigheart" Dick "Criminal Notorious" Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and other CIA and possible other Bush Administration officials responsible for the systematic use of torture.
Germans reportedly became "outraged" upon learning that in 2004 a German citizen was abducted while on vacation by C.I.A. agents and taken internationally to a secret C.I.A. prison torture facility identified only as "Cobalt" in the C.I.A. Torture Report apparently somewhere in Kabul, Afghanistan where he was tortured for four months after which time it was discovered that the C.I.A. had misidentified him in a "mistaken identity mix-up" at which time the C.I.A. continued to hold and torture him at the facility because it realized "it had the wrong man".
The Ninth Amendment editorial board without comment provides for concerned/interested readers' further consideration the text of the addictinginfo.org article below with permanent link to original source and author information in blue headline text below.

Germany Files War Crimes Against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld And Other CIA Officials

AUTHOR DECEMBER 21, 2014 1:35 PM

If President Obama won’t do it, someone else will. Thankfully, a human rights group in Berlin, The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, has begun the process of indicting members of the Bush Administration by filing criminal complaints against the architects of the Admin’s torture program.
Calls for an immediate investigation by the German human rights group was started after outrage ensued on the case of a German citizen, Khalid El-Masri, who had been captured by CIA agents in 2004  because of a mistaken identity mix-up and was tortured at a secret prison in Afghanistan.
Wolfgang Kaleck, the general secretary of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, said:
“By investigating members of the Bush administration, Germany can help to ensure that those responsible for abduction, abuse and illegal detention do not go unpunished.”
In an interview with “Democracy Now,” Michael Ratner, president emeritus of the Center for Constitutional Rights and chairman of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, said that he believes Cheney, among others, have no defense for torturous actions and should be indicted.
“I strongly disagree that Bush, Cheney, et al., would have a defense. This wasn’t like these memos just appeared independently from the Justice Department. These memos were facilitated by the very people — Cheney, etc. — who we believe should be indicted. This was part of a conspiracy so they could get away with torture. But that’s not the subject here now.”
“Secondly, whatever we think of those memos, they’re of uselessness in Europe. Europe doesn’t accept this, quote, ‘golden shield’ of a legal defense. Either it’s torture or it’s not. Either you did it or you didn’t.And that’s one of the reasons, among others, why we’re going to Europe and why we went to Europe to bring these cases through the European Center.”
Ratner then hit the nail on the head regarding America’s dangerous exceptionalism path down the road: “But, of course, you know, Cheney just showed us exactly why you have to — have to prosecute torture. Because if you don’t prosecute it, the next guy down the line is going to torture again. And that’s what Cheney said: ‘I would do it again.'”
Khalid El-Masri was on vacation in Skopje, in Macedonia, when he was pulled off of a bus by government agents, sodomized with a drug, and taken to the secret base that was identified only as Cobalt in the CIA torture report. After four months, and after the United States learned of the mistaken identity, they left him there and continued to torture him. They held him further because the U.S. realized they had been torturing the wrong man. Afterwards, they released him, dropping him off somewhere to resume his life.
El-Masri in his own words, in the same interview with “Democracy Now:”
[translated] I was the only one in this prison in Kabul who was actually treated slightly better than the other inmates. But it was known among the prisoners that other prisoners were constantly tortured with blasts of loud music, exposed to constant onslaughts of loud music. And they were—for up to five days, they were just sort of left hanging from the ceiling, completely naked in ice-cold conditions. The man from Tanzania, whom I mentioned before, had his arm broken in three places. He had injuries, trauma to the head, and his teeth had been damaged. They also locked him up in a suitcase for long periods of time, foul-smelling suitcase that made him vomit all the time. Other people experienced forms of torture whereby their heads were being pushed down and held under water.
He finished the interview with some pretty damning words that should make George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld shudder:
“And let me just say, Germany — whatever happened before, between the NSA spying on Germany and the fact that their citizen has now been revealed to have been kept in a torture place, when it was known that he was innocent, I’m pretty sure that Germany is going to take this very seriously.
Help us get the word out!

CIA Officials Desperate Not To Be Dragged Off To "Detention Facilities" And Themselves Tortured Try To Intimidate Senate Intelligence Committee Staff Stall Oversight Hope Incoming Republican Senate Will Save Their Sorry. . . .

Monday, 29 December 2014, WASHINGTON, D.C. - Readers interested in the ongoing Mengelian criminal torture and other unlawful practices of the C.I.A. may be interested to get a taste of what no doubt is just the tip of the (melting) iceberg of the apparently limitless range of twisted activities the C.I.A. is capable of (at least in intent if not aptitude) doing in a debate raging behind closed doors in high (and low) places focusing on the so-called "Panetta Report" as described in some detail in the below link to the Huffington Post (with video!) "Other Torture Report" investigative article including key clues as how to avoid failing the LSAT by making up non-existent privileges, ignoring the Separation of Powers doctrine which forms the structural foundation of the United States Constitution and so much more,
The entire "Torture Report" debacle building since at least 2002 again starkly exposes that some of those sworn to uphold the Constitution to the extreme as in fact being at the forefront of its attempted dismantling whether through intent or willful ignorance in what might be euphemistically described in C.I.A. disinformation misinformation lingo as "misguided patriotism" although other descriptions readily come to mind which are considerably less charitable.
Those readers who do review the Senator Feinstein video in the article link below may listen also for her express reference to the Executive Order of the President reiterating the absolute prohibition of the C.I.A. from domestic spying or any other operational activities in the "Homeland" as it were, i.e. to the extent the C.I.A. persists in its global thirst to "stomp the terra" it remains under its original mandate and other United States law restricted to doing so in other people's countries and not in the people's country from whose people its sole power to the extent it is capable of being and is legitimately exercised derives. That being NOT in the United States of America.
In fact for all the Ninth Amendment knows the C.I.A. may not really even be headquartered in Langley, Virginia beside the petting zoo which may just be a Hollywood set as it seems to appear so freely and frequently in films. The Agency actually may be just down the swamp from our own headquarters as previously reported out here in Tanguska or in that nondescript one-story office park down the road from some reader(s) extending who knows how far underground as that would seem to be about the only direction left to go on planet Earth for a little privacy these days barring outer space which doubtless C.I.A. legal counsel has concluded it is free to explore. Into the air Junior Birdmen, into the air!
Strained levity aside the above-referenced link to this monumentally tragic ongoing torture saga follows:

BREAKING NEWS ALERT: U.S. Release Of Long-Delayed Heavily Redacted "Explosive" C.I.A. Bush Administration Torture Report Summary Expected To Increase Risk Of Worldwide Violence Against American Facilities With Six Thousand Marines On Three Continents Now On Heightened Global Alert

Tuesday, 9 December 2011, WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. imminent release of a heavily redacted C.I.A. Bush Administration Torture Report is expected to increase immediately the risk of violence against American facilities worldwide with "thousands of Marines" and all the United States "military on high alert." This extraordinary announcement was made by Cable News Network (CNN) in recent hours. The Ninth Amendment urges all readers worldwide who have reason to believe they may be at increased risk to take this CNN report very seriously and commence all appropriate available security precautions while keeping themselves as real-time informed as possible.
The Ninth Amendment emphasizes that it has not reviewed any Senate Intelligence Committee release of a  C.I.A. Bush Administration Torture Report ("Report") redacted or otherwise. However the imminent release of just 480 pages or less than a tenth of the redacted several thousand page Report is expected to be so inflammatory that the C.I.A. already has publicly renounced its use of torture such as that reportedly documented in the Report.
The Report apparently documents C.I.A. Bush Administration so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques" which are considered some of the harshest torture techniques known and were reportedly used on more than one hundred (100) prisoners. The harshest torture technique known is said to be waterboarding the use of which by the C.I.A. was made under the Bush Administration the Report documents with three (3) prisoners. Another not as fully documented technique used was said to be "sleep deprivation" which also apparently is one of the harshest torture techniques known and can actually be continued until a prisoner succumbs to a horrible death from lack of sleep. There have been further obscure references specifically to the use of these torture "techniques" in the hunt for Osama bin Laden but to no avail.
Unfortunately logic dictates that in order for accepted credible organizations to have recognized the accuracy of statements about the ultimate results of sleep deprivation they must have observed such a death first hand or if not by highly scrutinized evidence of such a death. CNN for obscure reasons reports that the prospect of such disclosures as those above has raised fears that they may inflame already ghastly American hostage situations which speculation the Ninth Amendment does not care to further pursue nor does it understand why CNN would do so either. These C.I.A. Bush Administration so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques" ultimately yielded no new information at all and "failed to produce any results."
Initial information is that the State Department and C.I.A. are reported to have objected to this long-delayed federal Report disclosure with some making a "last-ditch effort" to further stall the Report's release calling it "a terrible idea" and former Vice President Dick Cheney dismissing "it" ("it" apparently vaguely encompassing the Report and its disclosure ) as "a bunch of hooey". Apparently however the state of affairs is such that the disclosure or leakage of the information as the case may be is said to be "inevitable" and that it is best to "get it over with as soon as possible." It would seem likely that some unknown to Ninth Amendment person or entity is threatening perhaps to release the entire contents of the Report if the Obama Administration does not at least disclose the redacted version of the Report imminently. This is mere speculation.
The Ninth Amendment conveys here to readers the facts of this situation currently known as reported by CNN. The imminent disclosure of the redacted Report has spawned grave concerns spanning the globe including intense concern for the safety of American facilities and all those serving at them as evidenced by the heightened alert status of the United States Marines and military worldwide. Greatly increased concerns as to the physical safety and political dangers caused by the redacted Report's disclosure extend to United States partner nations in efforts to fight terrorism with CNN expressly mentioning Egypt, Kuwait, Japan and Europe overall especially on alert for a violent backlash.
Meanwhile U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has made an unannounced visit to Baghdad which is not known to the Ninth Amendment at this time to be related to the redacted Report's disclosure. Given the urgency of the language if not the delivery of the above reports which most recently have included express warnings that global violence and deaths "could" or even "will" result from the redacted Report's release any potentially affected readers are urged to proceed with the utmost caution and to stay informed in real-time as much as possible. In conclusion the Ninth Amendment must and does make the disclaimer that this is a very preliminary alert but the information has been verified in The Washington Post and The New York Times with links in the sidebar and the specific New York Times article linked to below.
Finally the Ninth Amendment does not take it as a good sign at all that Dick Cheney characterizes the worthless needless use of the harshest means of torture yielding no results as "absolutely, totally justified." The most recent reports indicate that to some extent the dire warnings may be the culmination of years of GOP fear-mongering sickly ironically here of "blowback" from the C.I.A. Republican Bush Administration use of the harshest known means of torture. But that is not to say that all credible warnings should not be taken entirely deadly seriously pending further developments.

C.I.A. Outrages New York Times Entire Editorial Board As Times Condemns Rogue C.I.A. Spy Agency Disguised Scheme And Demands C.I.A. "Shocking Plan To Purge The Email Record Of Most Of Its Employees Must Be Stopped"

Sunday, 7 December 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - The CIA's latest exposed especially sneaky domestic bureaucratic plot this time trying to trick its fellow federal employees into being unwittingly accomplices in attempting once again to cover its guilty ass and not to be held to stricter transparency rules necessary because it is a publicly accountable government agency rather than the lack of routine scrutiny appropriate for the ordinary private ordinary citizen protected by the U.S Constitution and Bill of Rights doubtless attempted here because the C.I.A. has come to view itself as "above the rest of us" due to its frequent apparent temporary success to date most often escaping all accountability for a long history of illegal and criminal acts including torture and murder both now known and yet to be discovered in which CIA officials in the case at hand participate in conspiring to afford themselves the luxury to "disappear" from the National Archives and Records Administration all of the (potentially very incriminating) emails of all of its employees after three (3) years separation from service except its topmost 22 C.I.A. managers disingenuously insultingly disguised as a part of a federal initiative merely to reduce supposedly "worthless" government archived records.
This "shocking plan" since has been exposed by U.S. Senators Feinstein and Chambliss of the Senate Intelligence Committee and condemned by the New York Times entire editorial board as yet another dark shadows operation "in plain sight" attempting to erase C.I.A. bad deeds this time in an effort permanently to "purge the emails of most of its employees" which doubtless mistakenly preserve details of things such as failed attacks on foreign governments and expected unwarned of domestic blowback not to mention black site waterboarding and other sick forms of torture and doubtless the latest C.I.A. hatched remote drone and other group assassinations with untold collateral damage by this century's new "lethal surveillance teams" killing humans as if they were characters on computer game screens all of which emails apparently never even had to be preserved in the first place as it apparently is C.I.A. "policy" that employees only print out and keep emails of what in their own unfettered and unreviewed discretion they deem to be important although for all they know the N.S.A. in its huge overflowing computer servers or some other "national security" entity most probably is retaining all the C.I.A.'s email metadata traffic as well as everyone else's perhaps in case some inside turf war becomes real ugly especially with that ATF Bureau out there looking desperately for years now for a purpose ever since its failed Koresh compound Waco publicity fiasco in which the FBI helped really put the final nail in the coffin although who in their right mind would give the ATF even a baby Macintosh suitable for playing "Asteroids" as it might actually goodness forbid really screw things up and accidentally not lose the hand-scrawled record of some recent purchaser of enough arms ammunition and body armor to outfit a modest army and thus prevent some NRA owned politician from being re-elected.
This C.I.A. email destruction and avoidance practice is completely at odds with and in glaring exception to the United States rogue spy agencies' led by an NSA run amok intention to effect the total permanent illegal retention keeping full text records of its unconstitutional historical and continuing universal domestic spying and surveillance metadata email stealing sweep in absolute violation of the Bill Of Rights starting with the NSA "special source" Operation Prism of all United States citizens in which the NSA secretly indiscriminately illegally intercepted and retained all private citizens emails for which responsible NSA officials long ago should have been thrown in prison in which now the C.I.A. latest records destruction scheme reflects as ever the agency's ceaseless attempts to stay one step ahead of and two steps above the law doing its best to snub all requirements of government transparency and accountability in which elements of the C.I.A. and its brethren "national security" agencies at the same time through the persistence of a fundamentally criminal culture lay waste to the brilliant unique and remarkable foundation of principles and practices set forth in the United States Constitution they are sworn to uphold but nevertheless mindlessly bent on eventually destroying despite being the core essence of this Nation they are tasked with protecting .

THE POLITICS OF FEAR: "The Gift That Keeps Giving" Thomas Friedman New York TImes Column Comment Response By The Ninth Amendment

Wednesday, 3 December 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - The Ninth Amendment editorial board submitted the comment below to the New York Times in response to OP-ED columnist Thomas Friedman's column entitled "The Gift That Keeps Giving" reflecting on the culture of fear that has permeated the United States since 9/11/2001 as the result of a conscious choice of the not-really-elected "President" George "little shrub" Bush to play the "fear" card and lead the United States in that direction in which the country unfortunately has kept moving with such momentum that it has left President Obama with little room to maneuver even after six years to higher aspirations than caving to the irrational fears that is the only goal of "terrorists" who actually have very little power unless they get very lucky and get noticed.
A true and correct copy of the text of the Ninth Amendment comment follows. It is now known at this time that a new milestone for the Ninth Amendment has been achieved along with our diabolical master plan in the spirit of Vincent van Gogh and so many other great talents shunned in their lifetimes to see our entire audience eliminated but to keep both our ears (except through one or two "mistake" or "sympathy" pageview hits from our non-existent brother) either through lack of reader interest and/or knock-off sites that after a few site visits today from the New York Times administration it has decided the following Ninth Amendment comment for the first time in history has and will not be digitally published by the New York Times along with the couple hundred comments that did pass muster following "The Gift That Keeps Giving" column:
"How ironic. FOX-TV for the first and only time gets the scoop and calls it "right", "little shrub" loses both popular and electoral votes but the GOP Court steps on in and voila Bush v. Gore effectively names Bush 43 President sends it back to FLA where Bush family Governor and GOP election official pull the lever and coup d'etat! President of these United States. Do not follow the Constitution knows best and Osama bin Laden gets the fool of his dreams for the big day in September. And again begins the Politics of Fear as that is the way Dick Cheney makes a killing as it were. Mr. Friedman the editorial board of the Ninth Amendment at www.waronnothing.blogspot.com could not agree with you or your commenters as of now more. A heartfelt thank you for this rare opportunity to make a somewhat relevant comment which in conclusion consists of three of our favorite quotes. One from our existentialism teacher at Exeter: "Thank you for belaboring the obvious." Two from a Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." And three from a U.S. President on the occasion of his first inaugural address before a remarkable first week in office in which he accomplished more than the House of Representatives has in a year, Franklin Delano Roosevelt: 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself.'"

Psilocybin Helps Treat Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD, Cluster Headaches, Alcoholism, Despair Of Some Cancer Patients, (Anecdotally Even Stuttering) Preliminary Studies Suggest In Research On Hold More Than 45 Years Since Bogus Nixon Cynical "War On Drugs" Hysteria And Just Recently Resumed

Monday, 1 December 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - In yesterday's New York Times Sunday Edition "Can Mushrooms Treat Depression?" with link below for interested readers widely published chef and cookbook and mycologia author Eugenia Bone co-president of the New York Mycological Society briefly relates her one experience eating psilocybin containing so-called "Magic Mushrooms" in middle age and also gives a documented historical overview of past (up to 1968) as well as recently resumed and expanded new highly controlled studies of the effects of psilocybin on the human brain and behavior.
Diverse research suggests that psyilocybin acts in some subjects as a therapeutic agent for several areas of mental disorders including the treatment of anxiety, depression including the depression and despair experienced by some cancer patients, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), alcoholism (as was also shown in some alcoholics with LSD until it was criminalized for all purposes but not before some studies with alcoholics having reported never taking another drink after a single controlled LSD session), and even in one first-person experience reported to Ms. Bone in which they claimed psilycybin had cured their stuttering.
One method of research now available with the availability of M.R.I. imaging was reported in "a study published last month in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface which compare [sic] M.R.I.s of the brain of subjects injected with psilocybin with scans of their normal brain activity." The study made the remarkable finding from the M.R.I.s that psilocybin literally creates new neural pathways between cortical regions of the brain otherwise never connecting which although almost certainly only temporary (psilocybin in controlled administration has been shown to have about a four hour psychoactive duration) has been demonstrated to have lasting therapeutic effect. Specifically psilocybin controlled administration has achieved long-term relief for suffering from mental disturbances such as those listed above "giving patients a new perspective on their lives" moreover including even non-sufferers as well as an adjunct facilitating psychotherapy.
It is hypothesized that even the single new experience of the temporary use of new neural pathways not normally existing between certain cortical regions of the brain may provide the needed impetus for minds suffering from otherwise non-responsive depression as well as PTSD and OCD and other conditions with patients' brains literally stuck in "ruts" or "negative loops" to get out of them when they are unable by any other means themselves to do so. This suggests tremendous possibilities not only for the relief of certain human mental disorders but also the increased ability of even those not suffering from mental disturbances to make more full use of the extraordinary unbounded potential of the human mind when it is functioning with the cognitive freedom possible only with an affirmative sense of well-being.
This situation of bona fide scientific and medical research derailed sounds unfortunately all too familiar for a range of psychoactive substances ranging from marijuana to LSD and countless others as well which have in many cases had all research in the United States and doubtless other countries pressured by the United States halted through the use of such transparent totally disingenuous political devices as "drug war compliance certification". This device was most obviously misused for example by the United States Government with countries such as Mexico to the extent that it became yet another example of one of the great many gross attempts at manipulation of public perception and opinion through State dissemination of misinformation which only served to further harm the credibility of "the authorities".  This unfortunately exemplifies the countless blatant falsehoods which serve as the foundation for what it is not worth of the more than forty-five year phony and near universally recognized failure along with its totally foreseeable newly created "unintended" tragic consequences of the so-called "War On Drugs" such as endemic corruption and catastrophic damage to the integrity of law enforcement and to fundamental inalienable rights enumerated in the United States Constitution to name but a few.
The "War On Drugs" was started as no war at all but another package of total lies and manipulation and fabrication of the sick and deranged Republican psycho-sociopathic disgraced resigned GOP President Richard Nixon. Republican "Tricky Dick" Nixon actually was so dangerously delusional as to think it a good idea to make audio tapes of himself confessing enough of his criminal intentions and acts to get himself impeached and thrown from the Office of President of the United States had he not resigned not to mention spending his life in prison had he not been pardoned as revealed on tape to his co-conspirators and eventually most of the rest of the world.
Nixon as if maniacally bent on doing himself in not only boasted that he was considering taking up a hit man friend on a "free favor" to have Robert Kennedy "offed" but emphatically bragged that his entire subterfuge of a "War On Drugs" was nothing more than a phony fabricated hoax. This sentiment Nixon amply highlighted including by the ridiculous episode in which he named Elvis Presley at Presley's drunken request scribbled on a cocktail napkin on a first-class flight into Washington, D.C. a "Special Drug Agent" in a "ceremony" in which the criminal Nixon presented the wasted Elvis with some concocted badge and certificate in the Oval Office. This scene actually more or less accurately portended what a numbingly persistent nightmare fiasco Dick Nixon's "War On Drugs" was to become in the decades ahead.
The U.S. Government actually was dumb enough eventually to create, arm and outfit the entire opposing side of its "War" empowering a new enemy that could take down nations where no serious enemy had ever existed before. Unbelievably buying their own mindless rhetoric all branches of the State succeeded in helping establish and enable entirely new international terrorist psychotically murderous drug cartels reliably making one stupid policy move after another incrementally creating through public legislation and legal and illegal hare-brained  "covert operations"  more and much worse dangerous and deadly "War On Drugs" related problems at home and abroad than there ever were before, This has lead inexorably to a now long and seemingly forever rapidly rising death toll of countless thousands of totally innocent persons such that the "collateral" and increased damage far outweighs any damage from drugs that ever was avoided.
Finally shame on the scientists and physicians who have been too gutless effectively to resist this idiocy and tell the public what a sham it has been. Instead they have made the weak choice to buy into this deadly nonsense and abdicate their professional responsibility even though they knew or certainly should have known it was bad health policy and bs science and medicine originated and driven by a bunch of untrained uneducated unlicensed bozos. They chose to remain complicit and even turn on their colleagues who had had the courage and the brains to try to do what was right instead of parroting the ridiculous "anecdotal horror stories" of their Executive Branch agency puppetmasters. So long to the cowards who chose that path rather than insist that research continue and the competent level-headed prevail to truly identify the benefits and document the relative dangers where they really did and did not exist instead of choosing to discredit themselves along with the feds in the eyes of a whole generation who largely knew better just from lay experience and observation so that when the true risks came no one was left to listen to their warnings.
In any case hopefully in this regard too Ms. Eugenia Bone is correct that things are at least ever so slowly loosening up such that there is at least some hope of finally halting once and for all this charade that is destroying this country, its Constitution, the integrity of its medical research and care at such a needless cost of untold unnecessary misery to those caught up in this whole mess including the many and often silent unwell who are already suffering enough and desperately can use any therapeutic remedy that works without added further concern of being haunted by the shambles of forty-five plus years of rank idiocy.
The urgent need to remedy this situation literally destroying the fabric and heritage of this nation has been widely recognized and acknowledged by countless experienced members of the law enforcement community and even significant numbers of the judiciary. May the legitimate work of bona fide scientific and medical researchers go on and the results unencumbered by those with false self-serving motives whose greatest concern is their "turf" and their "toys" rather than the untold needless suffering that has been caused for others.
Interested readers can find more information about the above psilocybin research and its potential in the New York Times link below and in the many studies linked to therein as well as the link above to the Royal Society study which also appears in the Times.
