BREAKING - Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov - "The Guy Who Saved the World"

16 August 2012, WASHINGTON, D.C. - The editorial staff and global bureaus of the Ninth Amendment log remind readers to avoid BYPASSING THE NEW YORK TIMES PAYWALL SIMPLY BY SETTING FREE FIREFOX BROWSERS TO "PRIVATE BROWSING". After an exhaustive research effort instigated by Professor Noam Chomsky and undertaken by the Ninth Amendment among hundreds of scholars, academicians and historians worldwide the Ninth Amendment editorial board expresses our profound gratitude to the man identified here as "the guy who saved the world".
The United States Government has seen no reason to celebrate the man "who saved the world" in the 2002 words of the former head of the United States National Security Archive in light of the apparent sheer idiocy of the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis of dropping live "practice" depth charges in a still largely unknown incident alluded to by former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert McNamara as bringing us to the brink of the end of the world.
The Ninth Amendment trusts that our readers to whom we pledge best efforts always to keep best informed of the distilled real vital rather than "distractive" news of the world in this present matter derived from Wikipedia to which all credit is given and none claimed by the Ninth Amendment would and do wish to know if not already the identity of the individual whose documented actions are the reason that we and all of our readers as well as likely the entire world community are alive today.
Our profound and eternal thanks to Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov who on 27 October 1962 with no fanfare saved the world against all odds.

  1. It brought me great pleasure to see a new post today. I have truly missed reading the Ninth Amendment. I must tell you, this by far is the most interesting, as well as, one of the most important bits of information you have provided your readers with to date. You truly are a remarkable source of information. Not only is it interesting, but it is importance information. I hope that you will write more frequently. Missed you, Big M. meilleurs voeux a' vous et L peu

    1. Merci beaucoup. Et a vous aussi. We only can apologize so many times for posts we wish had been written, but life has a way of overtaking us. Nevertheless the Ninth Amendment wishes nothing but to confirm the contentment, hope and faith of those such as yourself who will not forget that so many are not represented by the sadly misguided who may dominate media headlines. As for the "little one" she takes her own path but now makes her way home. She is deeply grateful for your love and support. The Ninth Amendment also is pleased to announce the expected addition of a sorely needed expert to head our IT department. "Big Big Joe" currently is simultaneously reading fourteen books on diverse computer languages and, as irony would have it has received the very best training in cryptography from yours truly, the United States Government, in cryptographic programming in which there is no "back door". Let us never forget the "Guy who saved the world" on 27 October 1962. Merci encore.
