BREAKING NEWS: Germanwings Crash Co-Pilot "Intended To Destroy" Plane Killing All Aboard By Deliberate Eight Minute Descent Into Mountain Crash

Thursday, 26 March 2015, MARSEILLES, FRANCE - Marseilles Prosecutor Brice Robin minutes ago revealed that information from the "black box" data recorder recovered from the Germanwings (owned by Lufthansa) flight 9525 Airbus 320 Barcelona to Dusseldorf plane crash showed that the 28-year-old co-pilot Andreas Lubitz "intended to destroy" the airplane by crashing it into a mountain. Mr. Lubitz while left alone in the cockpit intentionally pushed a button to disengage the flight monitoring system forcing the plane's 8 minute descent as the pilot fought at the locked door to return to the cockpit with passengers screaming in the final seconds before the plane crashed into a mountain instantly killing all 144 passengers and 6 crew aboard.
Prosecutor Brice said that the co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was "not known by us" to have any connections to terrorism or extremism. German authorities are later expected to give further information on his background and private life. He had been a co-pilot only since 2013 although Lufthansa maintains it was confident of his fitness to fly CNN is reporting. The voice recording revealed that co-pilot Lubus remained silent in the final minutes of descent but could be heard breathing regularly. CNN reports that 249 passengers and crew died in the crash. (There is an apparent discrepancy between the BBC and CNN reports as to the number dead although both report that all aboard the plane were killed.) French authorities have asked for United States assistance and FBI agents now are investigating the crash.
