Police Asset Forfeiture Abuse Explodes Makes Cops U.S. Largest Gang Of Theives Encouraged By Prosecutors In Bogus "Seminars" Coaching Seizing Of Cash And Valuable Property Easily Fenced Of Police Victims Often Never Convicted Nor Even Charged With A Crime But Billions Of Dollars Of Innocent Citizens' Cash And Property Still Never Returned At Prosecutor's Discretion

Friday, 14 November 2014, NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Ninth Amendment readers who would rather not have their blood boil reading of exponentially increasing nationwide law enforcement misuse of asset forfeiture laws effectively abused by police to steal cash and property of any and all citizens often with no charges ever filed or just dropped and when they actually are pursued in legal proceedings regardless of citizens being found not guilty the victims nevertheless almost never will find it worth the extremely expensive nearly impossible additional exercise required in which they still have the burden to initiate a fight with the same prosecutor given the additional proposition that she or he will ultimately hold the power (no judge, sorry) to decide on the return of their police stolen cash and/or property and/or might even just decide to fine them heavily for wasting the law enforcement community's time in seeking its return, well those readers might just wish to skip the New York Times article linked to below entirely.
Police now trained to go after cash, cars including luxury and sports cars which they often specifically have identified and chosen for seizure then staking them out waiting to seize them forever for any apparent infraction regardless of whether the driver owns them or not with the same being true of other police department personal favorite self-gift items such as expensive big screen TVs and other pricey property most easily fenced if they still are in need of more cash to fund additional asset forfeiture seizure "operations".
Meanwhile bypassing items such as jewelry which prosecutors in national cop thievery seminars tell them is "too hard to sell" have managed to rack up billions of dollars worth of seizures with no due process of law whatsoever effectively giving them the dubious distinction of taking by far more cash and property literally with a "license to steal" than all other thieves in the United States combined. And we used to make fun of Latin American police in places where for example if one hits a person walking in the dark while driving home drunk from the bar it is customary that the driver just leave the keys in the car and walk away. But please do not take our word for it. The New York Times article linked to below includes some choice video clips of national seminars with prosecutors of somewhat dubious attitudes toward the average citizen training police in some rather questionable techniques which have proven to be the most lucrative so far for stealing cash and property all of which incidentally is obviously in absolute contravention of the United States Constitution and the rights of all the People clearly set forth therein.
